This is a free Museum and it's located in the same building as the VIC and the Art Gallery. The museum is one of the best I have visited. There is info on the history of Kingaroy and in particular the peanut industry. There is a short video. All displays are neat and tidy and clean with excellent labelling. The displays are well spaced apart.

The lavender farm was lovely and had a huge array of items to purchase, though it was very expensive. We had the damper and coffee, the coffee was average and a bit watery, I would have coffee in town somewhere.

After enjoying a 2 night "Star Gazer" package recently, we thought we would share this lovely location with a group of ladies we had visiting.
Judy and Bernie were immediately accommodating. Although they had the bistro area already booked for lunch, they organised to have an extra staff member available for the 12 of us and we enjoyed an amazing wine tasting and platters on their verandah.
Danealle was so patient with us all and Bernie took time away from his other guests to brief us on some of his wines.
Thank you so much for looking after us - we all had the best time!

We stopped on the way out of Kingaroy. Friendly lady gave out samples of any nuts we wanted to try. It was lovely trying out different flavours and not having to buy a bag if it wasn't your taste. We ended up buying Mexican for my husband. He loves hot flavours and I bought the honey coated. Both 375g packets and a jar of peanut butter 225g. No preservatives. All up just over $22. Good value if you love peanuts.

We just managed to get in before closing time - and managed to have a quick look around. Some nice art work and beautiful silk scarfs. Wouldn't have minded if we'd missed it though. Hrs Mon-Fri 10am - 4pm Sat/sun 10am - 2pm Closed Good Friday, Anzac Day, Christmas & Boxing Days. You can walk through from the gallery to the visitors centre.

Greeted warmly by volunteer Denise. Worked out what we wanted to acheive and was endlessly helpful. Lots of brochures instructions and directions.
Art gallery and historical museum attached to info area. One at each end. Museum was very well stocked and displayed and very interesting. They even have a small garden bed outside growing cotton sorghum and peanuts to explain how they grow.
Old harvesting machinery was fascinating and the video setup explained it really well.
Well worth spending the time. Free too but do give a donation to keep them going.
They sell tubs of peanuts there but they are cheaper at other outlets with bigger range of flavours.
Handy venue and bright clean building.
Very well presented.

A short drive from city centre, we undertook while passing through Kingaroy. Park at lookout immediately at viewing platform. Do not believe brochure that says wheelchair friendly, ramp to viewing platform far too steep. Nice district views. Appears to be walking track as well but no signage or information on this in pamphlet.

Kingsley Grove Estate is a family owned and operated business, established in 1998 by Michael and Patricia Berry. Built in the estate tradition, the first plantings were made in 1998 with the winery being built in 2001. This allowed the first commercial vintage to completed in 2002. Kingsley Grove take great pride in operating a self-sustaining winery with the concept of From Berry to Bottle. This means that we grow all the grapes used in winemaking on site and use our modern, fully equipped winery to create a wide range of wines. This allows us to make a range that includes traditional wines and more innovative styles that are designed to suit the Queensland climate. We grow a wide selection of grape varieties including 5 red and 6 white. From these we have produced medal winning wines, and continue to innovate and develop their list which includes varietals, blends, sparkling wines and a selection of fortified wines. Kingsley Grove's cellar door is open for wine tasting 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm and on Saturday's and Sunday's serve Pat's famous wood-fired pizzas. Tours of our working winery are available by the winemaker, Simon if booked in advance. We can also cater for groups and can provide a unique venue for parties and functions, contact us to book in advance. Kingsley Grove's exceptional wines can also sampled at Taste South Burnett and can be purchased online and in selected Kingaroy and South Burnett restaurants/motels. We presently attend Food and Wine Festivals in Kingaroy, Toowoomba, Hampton, Maryborough, Childers, Goomeri, Bundaberg, Maleny and Brisbane.
After dropping in a few months ago for a quick visit and having a lovely chat with the owner, we were really looking forward to sharing this location with a group of ladies we had visiting at the time.
Unfortunately, it didn't quite meet our expectations. We had made a booking but arrived half an hour later than we had advised. We had left two messages to say that we were running late but that didn't seem to improve our reception on arrival.
We felt quite uncomfortable and the cold coffee and the mix up with pizzas didn't help. The owner was not available and we received a rather short tour of the winery which was a shame.
Being questioned about an outstanding $2.50 on the bill on our way out ensured there will be no return visits.
Hats off to the lovely waitress though who was happy and positive through it all

Our group travelled from Morayfield area especially to visit the Observatory - and pleased we did. Initially overcast, we thought we'd miss out. BUT the skies cleared and when James rolled the roof back, many of us drew a breath of sheer amazement. We don't see skies as clear as this in the city. The group moved around the 3 huge telescopes marvelling at the sight of Saturn & Mars and the brightness of the clusters of stars. The 2 hour visit was maybe a tad too long for some of us but very interesting. James and his wife even laid on tea & coffee at the end.

The charm of this place starts when driving in. The tree lined road with the vineyard on either side is serene. The cellar door feels like you are in Italy with its red stone work and crawling vines. The owners are a perfect fit-welcoming and accommodating. The meals are yummy, the desserts are delectable, the cheese platters are superb, the scones are classic and the coffees are excellent.
Because I don't live to far away, I have been there a few times- can you tell. I have been know to bring a friend with me to chat it up or bring a book or catch up on current affairs from one of their newspapers. It is my brief escape from the real world.
