Clean white sand and warm turquoise waters... honestly, what more can you ask for? Vendors will try to sell you cigars, sarongs, and massages but they were super friendly and not aggressive like I've seen in other places.

Watch out if you are from outside of the country and visit this place, workers are really rude and overpriced everything after paid a lot of money they can't let us go because there was another charges we need to pay and never told us about it. If you not want to lose your mind avoid this place at all cost. Note: The way around every single hole is awful for driving the golf cars.

Our guide was very nice but he had very limited understanding of English. We tried to ask him questions about the area and people and he couldn't understand what we were asking. The excursion was almost exactly 2 hours from pick up time to drop off time for $35. After the ride, they sat us down and asked us to by a bottle of vino (he said non alcoholic) with our picture on it for $20. We weren't interested and felt very uncomfortable after we said no. Basically all we did was ride up and down some streets and then went into a cave. We were very disappointed, we would have loved to have been able to more fully understand the people that lived in the area.

On approach to the old Santo Domingo – San Pedro de Macorís road (Mella Highway) we will come across imposing sugar cane shoots. The atmosphere is taken over by a sweet-smelling aroma, and perfumes passers-by with a delightful mellificent smell. For centuries, sugar mills have long been established in this area. Witness the traditional way artisan farmers ploughed the cane fields. Legendary Major League Baseball players are proudly Dominicans. Get a chance to interact with the amazing history of these legends. Journey through the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox enrollment camps; get a sense of the recruitment process firsthand. Barge in a typical rural home and evidence the embodiment of the unmistakable Dominican hospitality, which characterizes them as people. Passionate novelesque adventures will become unbridled before your eyes, penetrating a heavenly stratosphere, where nature coexists in concert with the conquest of one-of-a-kind experiences.Indulge your taste buds with eccentric Caribbean flavors. Caress your lips with juicy tropical fruit slices, gratify your senses with the pleasing scent of freshly-roasted coffee, and mesmerize your palate with a chunk of organic cocoa. Secluded in the province of Monte Plata, a precious gem lies hidden. A village where a land’s religious values were first indoctrinated, and steward of infinite natural beauties.Stopover in one of the most immaculate municipalities in the Dominican Republic, and be a spectator to one of the most soulful sunsets in the calm of twilight. Discover the picturesque city of Bayaguana. We will attend a local public market; an assorted selection of locally-made products is on display. The incessant bustle of everyday life, blending with the voices in the background. The pretentious haggling and low-pitched whistling of an exotic birdlife damping the honking horns of an ever-increasing agglomerated traffic. Visit Santo Cristo de los Milagros Sanctuary. A statue of a Crucified Christ, carved in wood, measures approximately over a meter. Its construction is finished, and facial features are faultless. The figure originally did not have a cross and, by way of Christian piety, one was elaborated with native wood. The image of Santo Cristo de los Milagros has been adored since the 17th Century. Its architectural style is reminiscent of the colonial period. The church of Bayaguaa was built in 1968.The modern-day sanctuary was constructed in 1789. Subsequently, its tower and atrium were finished. Declared part of the country’s cultural heritage, and center of pilgrimage and plenary indulgences in the year 2000. Examine its rich history; tradition has it that the Christ was found prior to the devastations of Osorio, on the banks of Bayaja Beach (nowadays Bayaguana). Believed to have had belonged to a shipwreck, tossed ashore by the ship’s captain, invoking the Holy Spirit to protect them from the storm. As we retreat to Ojo de Agua Ranch, we will have a chance to be in communion with an alluring natural world. A delicious typical lunch will be served. Savor a traditional Dominican dish, commonly known as "la bandera dominicana," consisting of more (rice with beans), meat or fish and salad. Prior to heading back to the hotel, we will go to Ojo de Agua River. Awaken your senses plunging yourself in its refreshing icy waters.

We were excited about our Bayaguana Runners tour, but it wasn't at all what we expected for several reasons.
Let me start with the worst thing -- the length. We were under the impression this was an eight hour tour, but our day was just under 12 extremely uncomfortable hours. We were staying at Dreams La Romana, and as the tour and hotel were listed in the Bayahibe options we assumed our tour would fit in the eight hour time frame. I should have been alarmed and cancelled when we were informed our pick-up time would be 6:30 a.m., but we were informed that was because of the distance of our hotel to the tour's starting point and (wrongly) assumed the travel time was calculated into the tour time.
What we didn't know was that we would be picked up in a pick-up truck at 6:30 and transported an hour to another resort where we would board the open air safari vehicle. We would then drive around to other resorts picking up passengers for another hour and a half! At no point in the booking process were we told that so much time would be spent not touring, but driving great distances to pick-up and drop off passengers.
Once the tour finally started, it fell far short of meeting our expectations based on the description on the website. For example, the description said, "Journey through the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox enrolment camps in an Pedro de Macoris; get a sense of the recruitment process firsthand." In reality, we drove down the road that passes the fenced, gated camps and never got more than a glimpse of the facilities. Another huge disappointment was the school visit. I spent 30 years in education and am always very interested in education systems when we travel. The website said, "You will visit one of our sponsored schools where we learn about the Dominican school system." Unfortunately the school was closed so we drove by without even slowing down!
The transportation (an open air bus/truck) was inadequate for the number of people booked, which the guide even commented on as we picked up the last of the passengers for the tour. The last people on the vehicle had to sit half on, half off a seat for hours! I also thought the lack of restroom facilities/stops was inexcusable. By the time we got to the sugar cane field several people had to use the restroom. They were sent to the bushes with a roll of toilet paper!
The two components of the tour that, in our opinion, lived up to the billing were the stop at a Dominican home for delicious coffee and fruit, and the time spent at the beautiful Salto Alto Waterfalls. Other than those, the entire day fell far short of expectations, and frankly was a very uncomfortable waste of time and money.
I think the operators knew we were unhappy from comments we made on our surveys at lunch. They sent the pick-up truck to meet us part way through the dropping off process at the end of the tour, and saved us about 30 more minutes of riding around. Still, it was 6:25 when we got back to our resort. We had been gone 11 hours and 55 minutes, of which at least 9 of those were spent sitting in an uncomfortable vehicle.
I cannot recommend this tour. We feel like we were missing important information in the booking process. Had we known about the distance and length we would have changed our decision and selected a different tour.

One cannot bring food or drinks in. The food and drinks are expensive. We took the express bus from SD to San Pedro and the bus dropped us off
