Iran (Persian: ایران Irān [ʔiːˈɾɒːn] ( listen)), also known as Persia (/ˈpɜːrʒə/), officially the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: جمهوری اسلامی ایران Jomhuri-ye Eslāmi-ye Irān ( listen)), is a sovereign state in Western Asia. With over 81 million inhabitants, Iran is the world's 18th-most-populous country. Comprising a land area of 1,648,195 km (636,372 sq mi), it is the second-largest country in the Middle East and the 17th-largest in the world. Iran is bordered to the northwest by Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, to the north by the Caspian Sea, to the northeast by Turkmenistan, to the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan, to the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, and to the west by Turkey and Iraq. The ruins of the ancient capital of the Achaemenid kings of Persia.
This place is absolutely the best monument I have visited. We had a guide and spent over 4 hours there. Every new section of the site you go to has yet another old area of the site to amaze you and the guide can explain it all. Make sure you have a hat as the sun shines and there is little shade. Outside of the monument are the toilets, cafes and shops.
As is the norm throughout Iran women must be modestly dressed and have their heads covered.

This Museum located in Armenian quarter of Isfahan. Visitors can visit Cathedral and Music museum in the same day. The way that the staff show the museum and also live music show is nice. Some people say the ticket price is high but this is a private museum and really worth it.

Last october 2017 we visited the Kaluts, and it has been an extraordinary experience!!!
One of the most special things we have ever done!! The place is unique, incredible beautiful, just AMAZING!!!
I was lucky enough to experience both sunset and sunrise there. It was so beautiful. If you are well equipped you can camp between the yardangs but we spend night at Shahdad Desert Camp which is about 40 km away from the Kalouts.

Chahkooh is a must see in Qeshm. The beautiful details carved in the Mountains by rain and wind give this place an outer space atmosphere. Try to visit before the sunset to enjoy the beautiful colours of the sun on the rocks. On your way back don’t forget to make a stop at the shop where village’s women sell their beautiful handmade clothing jewelry and bags! Prices are good and written down which saves the trouble of negotiating and you can enjoy a cup of tea.

A 200-year-old precious stone-encrusted throne, jewels from all over the world, a gem-studded 1869 globe, the world’s largest pink diamond and other mind-boggling pieces make up the unusual collection at this historic museum.
This is a very beautiful museum. The Daryaye-noor diamond was stunning and the jewelry from previous Shah were amazing.

worth visiting! Don‘t miss it. So affordable and yet amazingly an experience worth doing! Too bad the tour guide who assisted the guests only speak farsi...don‘t forget to bring a jacket, could be colder esp during winter days....we went on a holiday, shocking that there was no queue at all!
