Hanko (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈhɑŋko]; Swedish: Hangö) is a bilingual port town and municipality on the south coast of Finland, 130 kilometres (80 mi) west of Helsinki. Its current population is 8,578 (31 August 2017), with a majority being Finnish speakers and a strong minority being Swedish speakers (7,001,440,000,000,000,000♠44%).

A lift takes you up to the top of this water tower. The view up there is really breathtaking as you can see Hanko in 360 degrees from the sea to the buildings in the town. The only thing to observe is that the air should be clear to make it possible to see it all.

This beach was one of the Beaches I used to do walks every morning when I lived in town. It just continues, continues and continues. At the end of the beach is 'Neljan Tuulen Tupa' which is a lovely place to visit during the summer months.

This not so well known nature path you will find from city Hanko, Hankoniemi. Place is called also Tulliniemen luontopolku direct translation could be like "customs heading". Name comes from customs area beside of this nature path. (mostly imported cars are waiting the clearence in here).
This place has three main point why it is so interesting. In first place, this is the main place for birdlovers on migrition time. Thats why there is located also one bird society research station. Secondly this area is the southest Mainland point In Finland with excellent views for sea-lovers. The third reason is that you will find a historical things from world war two time from here. Those places and builnings are not in public use but there are signs to read and you can see the area. Not so happy things but still part of the history of this place.
There is no services available but the path is good marked with white spots. This path suits for families and all people with normal walking ability. Take lunchbox with you and enjoy.

The local pub in Hanko, Finland. What makes us great? The people, our selection of beers and of course great music. We're open all year round' and we do have live music every weekend. #everyonesinvited

In my opinion the best live music pub in the world. Cold beer Good music and great fun. Friendly staff and all knowing locals [somethimes a little drunk] Always kind No excuse to walk by STEP INSIDE HAVE A BEER AND ENJOY.

Some friends invited us to have dinner there. We had fish and lamb cutlets, of which the lamb was much better. But when the bill came it was a surprise, whatever you ate either a three course dinner or just the main course the price was always 39€ ! Perhaps it is their policcy but the young waiters should have told us about it.
6. Hanko Rental
Racing kart rental service (arrive&drive). Starting from age 4. Open daily expect Mondays from 1st of July until mid August. From mid August until late September we are open on Saturday and Sunday. Other days we are open by reservation/phone.
