For many years now, the Beach and the Restaurant at Base Nature have been one of our favourite days out on the Riviera.
Low key, relaxed and easy to reach. Parking is plentiful and if you book lunch, you can use the restaurant facilities all day!
Managed by a delightful family, they like to look after you for Coffee, pre lunch drinks and great food from a huge menu!
Service is easy, relaxed but so efficient! Food is fresh and very generous portions always.
Just a great day by the fabulous, safe and secure beach.
Thank you all!

We've been traveling to St. Aygulf every summer for the last 15 years, and this summer we had the best experience so far! This was amazing! We first went to a wonderful beach in St tropez to have an amazing breakfast and after we went to cap taillat where we got to experience clearblue water and a wonderful sight. This was four hours of great fun ( to sit on a jet ski and feel the wind and water in your face and hair was priceless!) and we were so happy with the service ( we had an amazing instructor who made us feel safe and guided us through the journey in a fun and secure way) the sights, the breakfast and the jetskis! We will be back next year!

The museum has a huge collection, and you get a very thorough insight into the history of the French Navy.
At the entrance you get a detailed guide - we had a French version - which describes the development of the navy though the centuries as well as it gives you a short presentation of the major objects on display. Especially the description of the importance of the "Troupes Colonials" - now "Troupes de marine" was very interesting.
Entrance is free.

Pour voir un concert dans une ambiance décontractée il n y a rien de tel. La scène est à proximité des spectateurs. C génial. Plusieurs spots de restauration mais il faut de la patience
Très bien aussi pour mes brunch sur du dimanche midi

We visited the site of the Dam, the Barrage Malpasset, which collapsed in 1959, killing over 400 people, and destroying the villages of Malpasset and Bozon which were below it in its path. Although strangely eerie, with large concrete parts of the dam scattered along the route of the deluge, it is also a lovely scenic part of the region. There are nice walks and good paths. We walked about 5km, taking the route above the dam, and returning via the base of the construction. Well worth a visit. There are, however no monuments and nothing else to see (nothing left of the village), with only a plaque to commemorate the event.

To be honest I thought this was dreadful - just an area of concrete Seating with a few trees and even some artificial grass in places. Some of the views were ok but you get those anywhere along this stretch of the coast.

Unfortunately I can't judge the quality of their equipment but their service was great. Our childeren didn't meet the age requirements but the girl who helped us was very friendly and explained everything as well as possible.

Mont Vinaigre (Mount Vinegar) is the highest point (618m / 2,027ft) of the Massif de l'Esterel (Esterel Massif) mountain range between Fréjus and Cannes. A half an hour drive from Fréjus / St. Raphael there's a lookout point with fantastic views over the coast. The summit is a 30-45min walk over a road from the car park and provides much better views over both the coast from Cannes to St. Tropez and also inland.

An impressive looking building that towers above St Raphael - such a shame a hotel was built on the harbour side. Inside is less impressive but I understand that a refurbishment is planned. The interior is quite dull looking in parts although the stain glass windows are very well done. We attended the Saturday evening vigil mass and I'd forgotten how long and drawn out French masses can be – this one was no exception mainly due to the sermon and some over dramatic organ music and singing. Sad to see the presence of police outside before & after mass – not sure if this standard now in this part of France.
