In the atmospheric cellars of the Vinatrium in Deutschkreutz one finds a nearly inexhaustible supply of wines from Central Burgenland, all of which can be sampled.
Whenever I come to Deutschkreuz I try to visit Vinatrium and buy some local wines. I give away most of these as presents as I want to give others the opportunity to try what the area can offer in terms of its wine production. Many of my friends that visit are astonished about how clean and well kept the village is and how many offers it has to its visitors. There are many weekend events that one can visit with or without any consumption of wine. The local restaurants in general must be recommended to anyone passing by.

We were staying in Austria but close to the border so we travelled down to Sopron from Jois and had a look around this wonderful town. The fire tower is the most dominate building in the centre mainly because of it's purpose. It was used in the past as a look out for fires starting up. You can visit go up to the top for a wonderful view. Highly recommended

Discover 21 wineries from Horitschon in our little wineshop. Blaufrankisch is our love, but you can find a lot more varieties here. Taste from the wide range of wines and purchase your favorite wine. For groups of 6 people, we have commented tastings, workshops and guided wine walks through our vineyards.
we went there after completing the Draisinentour on the rails for a few glasses of wine and simply got stuck there.
Dominik is an incredible host, very friendly and knows his wine :) he also serves some snacks, like platters of ham or cheese.
the whole place feels really homey and we had a great night there (and more than some glasses of wine)

Best advice would be Google this man prior to visiting the museum. The first floor exhibits contain no English-language translation and you can easily get lost when trying to figure out who is who is who. My overall sense was the exhibits focused on this man's accomplishments, not a sense of WHO he was. The English-speaking young woman in front of the ticket desk had no interest in answering questions about the exhibit, seemed intent on ignoring us and conversing with her co-worker behind the register. We had to ask for an English language brochure mid-way through the first floor exhibit because we could not get a sense of who this man was. A shame she had no passion/enthusiasm for sharing knowledge of Szechenyi, described as "The Greatest Hungarian", with two interested people from America who had never heard of him before.

Only one hour by car from Vienna so easy to visit for a few hours, even when its cold (0) outside there is a good selection of slides and pools to visit. Can be a bit busy but you only queue a few minutes for the main slides. Not the cheapest (around 25 Euro for an adult) but kids love it and we will definately come again.

The city has a modestly interesting history that dates back to and before Roman times. The guide was extremely well informed and conducted a very interesting, informative and entertaining tour. The core of the city is undergoing street repairs and the installation of underground utilities. The completed areas show a marked improvement in appearance. We highly recommend the walking tour. Then come back in the evening.

Sehr netter Familienbetrieb mit interessanten guten Rotweinen.
Besonders interessant fand ich das Cuvee Alpha das auch mit 8,50 einen interessanten Preis hat.

This house is a must visit for tourist visiting Sopron. It's a living museum. Not seen in many places outside Sopron.
