This place oozes charm. Parts are hundreds of years old, floors are creaky, upstairs dining room seems only lit by candles. The food was a step or more above the usual---seems like a very serious kitchen and seems like locals come here for special occasions.

This restaurant deserves its top rating for Gmunden. The food is reliably good, the wines by the glass were also good. The owner stopped by our table to chat, make sure all was well, more than once, nice fellow.

enjoy the view - indoors or outdoors - on Lake Traunsee with surrounding Mountains. located on of the longest esplanades along the lake, offering home and selfmade desserts, pralines, gifts, cakes, and many other goodies. homemade icecream in the summer, lunch options and a huge Terrace to relax, enjoy and take it all in - calories and views ;-)

Our great-grandfather, the old Hois´ has been known over 100 years ago, why he chose this place on the banks of Lake Traunsee for his restaurant.Be it the bright, welcoming reception area or our seminar and conference rooms with appropriate equipment for such occasions. You'll be surprised how pleasant and efficient you can spend here a few days. Whether you sit under our old chestnuts on the Terrace and enjoy the wonderful view over the lake or in our restaurant. You will be pleasantly surprised in any case by the diversity of our food supply.Tradition is our obligation to our house for the purposes of the founder Hans Schallmeiner, which presented more than 100 years ago the foundation stone for guests connectedness, local cuisine and a family atmosphere to continue.
At the foot of a huge mountain (is in my world) and on the lake sure this could not be placed in a more idyllic location. We arrived to a very busy late summer afternoon with no tables but one became available quickly. The food was perfect and the service prompt and courteous. Bowls for dogs with their walkers.
A perfect set up for a walk along the lake and up into the range or for when you have finished. If you get a parking spot right outside the hotel remember to let them know if you go off walking. Tow away sign!!!!

While the hike from the Grunberg cable car was relatively easy it still warranted a cold beer. Ramsaualm did provide not only that but very good food as well. Great atmosphere in a nice renovated hut with very nice views on the Mountains and the lake. Beware - there is a swap near the lake and the kids will definitely check it out !

The restaurant "Kulturcafe", at the very end of the Promenade "Esplanade" in Gmunden, offers a variety of high quality products and an ambience with an exceptional atmosphere. Our team is delighted to serve you warm kitchen from 6pm to 10 pm. The menu provides you with a selection of meat dishes as well as vegetarian meals. Wine lovers will find their pick in our variety of international wines. During wintertime we host Jazzbrunches on Sundays starting from 11am where you can enjoy a traditional Austrian brunch a la carte while listening to regional jazz artists
The Kulturcafe is a place popular amongst locals in the Gmunden city. It is located at the end of the Esplanade, the famous walking strip of the lake Traunsee, opposite of the Yacht club. A very nice place to sit together and enjoy a cocktail, a glass of wine, or simply a beer. Small food is also served (but it is not a restaurant).

The tradition oozes out of every pore of this very typical farmhouse Gasthof where a warm welcome is served with great traditional Austrian food and drink. Go and find out for yourself!

It was such a great place for the gathering of the family. The cold food (which the only thing on the menu "Jause means snack") was delicious..
But forget about the good food, the super friendly staff, the nice atmosphere up there... etc, and just sit on the bench, have a drink and enjoy the mysterious view of Traunsee and the surrounding hills.
We're planning to climb the Traunstein this summer, so for sure on the way down we'll definitely stop by at this "station" and have a "jause" once again!

A very nice Gasthaus, great food and super service. The newly renovated playground is awesome! One of my favorite restaurants.

My 2nd time at the place. I arrived to the restaurant after hiking from Laudachsee. The beer was cold and I had a plate of cold cuts and toast. I loved the place. I will return again when I'm here in the country.
