Canadian World War II memorial museum features interactive animations and a dramatic eight-foot bronze sculpture entitled "Remembrance and Renewal."
The tour guides when we there were dedicated young Canadian students who actually do the tours here as part of there college studies. Very proud of what their fellow Canadians did here. That was very refreshing to see that the youth of today still cares, I'm not Canadian but they really made me proud anyway. When I had a break away from the crowd moment I went to the beach, very lonely and lots of seaweed. Found some sea glass and a few sea shells.

Like any other War Memorial it is a very emotional place to visit. We visited on the 73rd Anniversary of the D-Day Landing, when thousands of brave men risked their lives and some gave the ultimate sacrifice. A very moving place indeed this day, with lots of Canadians making the trip to attend the ceremony. There was one D-Day veteran there making it a day to remember for all.

The 3rd Canadian Infantry Division landed at Juno and despite suffering over 50% casualties they not only took their objectives but they then moved further in land from the beach then any others. Small tributes nowadays to these brave troops but will always be remembered !

With Pegasus Pipes & Drums I was present at the D-day remembrance service, held each year on 6th of June.
The house is the best fitting memory kept 'alive' to go to and get informed about D-Day on Juno beach.
The welcome was overwhelming, the house is impressive, informative and it was a very emotional evening.
The next day I returned to soak in more of the atmosphere.
A place I will never forget and hope to return to one day.

Excellent local business making umbrellas from scratch. They have many models made up (folding, ladies', gents', children's, parasols, golf, anti-wind - you name it). Everything looked really good quality and it's interesting to see the umbrellas being made.
You can also commission your own! Choose the fabric, style, handle, colour of the border, picture of your dog or a patchwork of patterns. Wonderful!

A great tour and museum. Lots of history and a trip back to a very unfortunate time for Europe and the world.

French friends had recommended a visit here while touring Normandy, and glad we stopped in. Perfect for a short visit with beautiful Gardens, greenery, whale skeleton and small museum located in this charming seaside town. Worth a visit & required if you have small children. Enjoy. ...

The Chateau of Fontaine-Henry is a Renaissance style chateau, located in the little village of Fontaine-Henry near Caen : it is a little treasure of Normandy. Guided tours of the inside of the castle are provided as well as a walk around the Gardens where you can also visit the chapel and the gothic rooms.
If you have a day of just tooling around the countryside the chateau is not to far out of the town Bayeux and easy to find especially when you have a really good GPS. The chateau is impressive and beautiful. We had a tour in French which neither my husband or I spoke but we did have the English version given to us on a pamphlet and our guide would interject English every so often. We actually drove there twice as it is only open after 2:30 pm and we were there too early the first time so drove over to Chateau Balleroy and toured it then drove back to Chateau de Fontaine-Henry.

The Mulberry Harbour created Port Winston and it supplied all the future men, materials & machinery that the Allies required to keep up the offensive after the landings ! Amazing to think that the scale of these pontoons & infrastructure survive still today, Whomever thought up the concept deserves a Victoria Cross or Medal of Honor !
