We were brought here for lunch as part of an excursion to the D-day Beaches off a P&O cruise. It was a good choice and the food and drink were far better than we imagined it would be. As we were a large group being served a set menu we didn't really interact a great deal with the staff, but they efficiently served the meal and it was tasty and attractively presented. We all found the loos a bit alarming as they were unisex and there were two stalls and a urinal in the corner, perhaps this is the norm in France, I don't know, my experience of the country is very limited. Anyway, we just got on with it in the British way, had a bit of a giggle about it and no one was traumatised!

Lovely place to eat on the seafront. Some of our group had fab food, mussels and prawns had great reviews. Ours was just average really, bolognese and pizza usually a safe bet but both disappointing. Service was quick for our kids though and made to feel very welcome.

I so much enjoyed my staying at La Pecherie. It is a wonderful cozy hotel , very warm atmosphere ,with the staff that ultra-kind. I was in the region for business reasons with some collegues We booked one night at La Pecherie. The first impact is very nice:outside temperature was 5 celsius and inside you are immediately welcomed in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is very kind ,the rooms are spaciois ,clean and very nicely fitted with a confortable bed.Now let's talk of the gem of this hotel:the restaurant. We had a fabolous diner in the restaurant of the hotel: a bottle on fine Sancerre white wine,a starter with a delicious " shrimps bigne'", ( absolutely stunning), an amazing fish soup of loup , cooked in the owen with baby carrots, green beans,a bit of milk cream: marvellous! Last ,to end up this glorious culinary experience,We had an amazing apple cake with icecream and a glass of Calvados.I am a gourmand and a very demanding client in restaurant and I can say I am totally satisfied from the food experience at La Pecherie: I want to be back there during summer time to enjoy again the fantastic food and the excellent hospitality.

Ici l accueil est au rendez vous de chaque jour et le chef se regale des produits de saison ou il saura faire l alliance de la modernite et du gout respecte.
We were making our way over several days towards Cherbourg for our ferry back to Ireland and decided to spend some time visiting some of the key points of the D Day landings, including Pegasus Beach and Pointe du Hoc, respectively scenes of great heroism shown by British paratroopers and US Rangers.
Parts of the coast are very pretty and also interesting - for example - the remains of the Mulberry Harbours but stretches of open countryside are few and far between, with joined up villages of hotels and holiday villas largely closed and somewhat depressing in late March - think Casino Royale!
A quick glance through the Michelin 2014 Guide Rouge showed a restaurant with bib gourmand called L'As de Trefle at Bernieres sur Mer. However, time was marching on and we arrived just after 13h30 without great hopes. These were compounded by the notice on the door showing the lunch service was between 12h00 and 13h15. However, the delightful young lady who answered the door welcomed us in with a warm smile.
As it was lunch time, we decided to stick with Normandy Cider and sparkling water [Chateldon] to drink.
Le Menu du Marche at €25.00 per person for three courses looked just perfect.
We started with large shrimps in a crispy batter with a puree of romanesco green caulifoower.
The main course was crispy magret de canard with shitake mushrooms and avocado puree - unusual and worked very well - and to finish a royal chocolate gavotte with flambéed banana.
As well as the three courses, we had three tasty amuses bouches to start with and some creations of the patissier to accompany the coffee.
The restaurant is owned by Anthony Valette, who we met at the end of service, and his lovely wife, aided by a team of two young people.
It is a super restaurant and offers great value at lunchtime.

We had a meal here at midday on one and it was the best spot we ate at along the Normandy coast. The staff were great and the food was superb. We had our three young kids with us and we were all delighted, our kids were asking every day when were we going back again. It is also a hotel but I can't comment on this as we didn't stay but it looked lovely .
We were weary having travelled 450 miles from the Dordogne and found this lovely restaurant.....how pleased we were! Spotlessly clean modern toilets. Attentive staff. Delicious food. A simple meal of Moules a la Normandie with an entrecôte steak was perfect. Well priced too.

Ouvert 365j/365j situe face a la mer les pieds dans l'eau, la cremaillere est l'etablissement reconnu pour la qualite de ces fruits de mer et la regularite de sa gastronomie un conseil RESERVER POUR ETRE BIEN PLACER
I have a different level of expectations for restaurants right on the beach that market to the beach-visiting crowd that is a slight lower expectation than other restaurants. Fortunately, La Cremaillere surpassed these expectations. You'll find a menu with the expected wide variety of seafood dishes, all of which were quite tasty, but you'll also find land-based dishes like lamb and foie gras which are equally well done. Add to that an excellent view right on the beach in the middle of town and it makes for a good choice for dining!

The service and atmosphere in this busy restaurant was perfect. Everyone apart from me had the moules in various sauces and all pronounced them superb. I had a wonderful fresh salad.
Prices were reasonable and we would certainly call here again if we're in the area, I have no hesitation in recommending Les Embruns

Simple menu with daily specials. The food is very well presented and flavors well balanced. Service was good. Excellent looking desserts. We didn't try them but looked appetizing.

Overlooking the marina. This busy restaurant was a lunch htime visit, but oh what disappointment - chips were overcooked as well as the omlette and fish. Only average on this occasion I'm afraid!

The hôtel, bar and restaurant "de Paris" is situated at 20 meters from the sea and 15 minutes from Caen and 2 hours from Paris. Courseulles is inside the landing D Day Beach. We are open each day 8am to 10.30pm
We were looking for lunch and tried out the Hotel de Paris. Menus arrived eventually and we ordered aperitifs. Food arrived for other diners, orders were taken, promises were made but nothing happened. After 30 minutes, when people who arrived after us had been served, we left.
