Chittaurgarh Fort

Reviewed By ShvRm_Traveller - Goa, India

The fort of Chittaur is one of the largest fort in India and sprawled over a hill. The town of Chittaurgarh is located next to the fort. The fort is steeped in glorious history and has been at the center of many historically significant events. The fort was capital of kingdom of Mewar during the medieval time and houses many structures of historical importance. The fort has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The roads inside the fort are motor able and the monuments inside the fort are to be accessible by vehicle. The fort is maintained by ASI and there is fee charged for entering the fort. Since this fort has a very high tourist foot falls, the ticket window is usually very crowded.
Most of the monuments are in ruins, however, many are still beautiful and highlight the glory of the fort. To see all the monuments, it takes time, so visitors will be well advised to carry water and wear head gear or cap. Visitors to the fort, also need to be mindful of the monkeys, who are found in large numbers among the ruins.
Visually, this fort, though larger, is not very different from any other fort in the region, but what makes this fort special as well as a must visit is that, it stands as a testimony to valor and pride of its rulers.

Sanwariaji Temple

Reviewed By W7927SH_

On the way from Chittorgarh to Udaipur along the highway, small branch of this Krishna temple is here.
Mirrors are shining for lots of gods inside.
This is convenient way to pray at a unique temple.
I would recommend another one 6km South off the highway to a village side.
The road is smooth and you can find a biiig version of the Krishna temple.
Not shining by mirror, but when I visited here on Sunday, the place was packed by the devotees chanting energetically.
Still peaceful and sacred.
Nice ambience.
