There are some amazing parks and really beautiful Waterfalls. The great thing is there was not many people. The ferns and vegetation are rich and green, lots of bamboo also. Water lovely and very fresh and spectacular Waterfalls. Pleasant walks and very nicely laid out. Definitely worth the journey to get there if you enjoy nature. Driving through the Guizhou countryside and past all the rice fields is truly picturesque. People very friendly.

We visited this historic site with our Chinese daughter-in-law and three-year old granddaughter who both really enjoyed the outing. For our daughter-in-law, this was an excellent opportunity to show us what China used to look like in the 80's and 90's before so much modernization took place. There is a small admission charge which provides access to a Buddhist monastery and the former residences of important local residents and officials. The historic area is only a block wide but as it extends for a good quarter mile, it makes for a full morning or afternoon.

Easily reached from the bus station, just show a picture to any local and you'll get shown to the bus, costs around 8 yuan. Entry is around 30 yuan and it will take you a good 3 leisurely hours to walk through the forest seeing the many Waterfalls and bamboo trees before reaching the famed danxia cliff itself. It's quite a climb up the valley but once at the top the views are gorgeous and the red rock of the cliff is very beautiful. Once seeing the wall you can take the hair rising slide down to the bottom for 30 yuan (well worth it!). Make sure to be at the exit before 4.30pm for the last bus back to chishui, we missed it but managed to luckily hitch a ride in a cement mixer truck back to town!

A fabulous walk in the peace and quiet of a bamboo covered valley, punctuated by 4 beautiful Waterfalls. It takes about 3 hours to walk at a leisurely pace around the route. Terrain is mostly flat with a stone path all the way. There are a few little restaurants half-way round, but a highlight for us was picnicking behind the "Water Curtain", the first falls.
Minibuses leave every few minutes from KeYun Zhan bus station on RenMinXi Lu in Chishui. It costs Y7 and its easy to pick up a return bus. Entry to the park cost us Y15 a piece, though it may be more expensive in the peak season.

The most visited sight around Chishui is still very nice to visit.
When we visited we were difinitely not the only ones visiting the sight but it was not completely packed.
Basically you´ll enter the park and will pass four Waterfalls.
The whole tour takes about 2-4 hours to do.
The park is very nice with a lot of bamboo and nice red soil and rockformation.
We prefered the Red Rock Gorge, but this daytrip was also very nice.
There are foodstalls every now and then in the park.
To get there from Chishui take the local bus next to the Luyou Chezhan bus station.
The local busdrivers will already assume you want to go to Sidonggou and ask you if you want to go there once you arrive in the local bus station.
Entry fee 85 RMB/person

Also called Red Rock gorge in the LP or Yangjiayan with the locals.
This was our favorite daytrip around Chishui and it costs about 30 RMB per person
Less visited than Sidonggou, the scenery is absolutely stunning!
First you will walk in a beautiful scenery with some Waterfalls, after that you will pass a few farmhouses and have an amazing view on the surrounding ricepaddies, and last but not least you will be rewarded with the incredible Danxia cliffs.
Make sure to have some decent shoes and be ready/capable of walking a few kilometers and climb a decent amount of stairs.
In case you don´t have any food or drinks no worries every once and a while you´ll meet some locals on the trek selling food and drinks.
Now to get there from Chishui go to Luyou Chezhan bus station, just next door you´ll find the local bus station.make sure to have it writen in Chinese or bring a tourist folder with a picture of the Danxia formation like us.

It is a large area of different types of bamboo. One can walk in the bamboo forest along the stone path and then climb the tower to the top. From the tower, one can have a bird view of the forest. On the foot of the mountain, there is a lake surrounded by bamboo, it is a good idea to boat in the lake.
