1 day sightseeing flights over Antarctica departing from Australian airports
We flew on the Feb 12 flight out of Melbourne. The trip was extremely well organized and professional. We splurged on business class (it was a special occasion) and I would recommend this to anyone who can even remotely afford it, as the passenger to window ratio is almost 1:1, so you dont miss out on anything.
The Qantas service was superb and the commentary was excellent. We saw McMurdo Station, Scott Base, Mt Erebus, the Trans Antarctic range etc, along with spectacular scenery.
The trip exceeded the hype and the views were awesome.

Beautiful golf course in Melbourne's sandbelt. Well tended greens and fairways with multitude of native bird life enjoying the surrounds. Regularly holds A Grade tournaments, caters for functions, has in-house accommodation and a good restaurant. Must be with a member to enjoy these things.

The park offers everything - free BBQ's, childrens' playground, ovals, bushwalking tracks and toilet facilities, so it is an excellent gathering point for celebrations where the children can run free and the adults can socialise. Although it is often busy on weekends there always seems to be a quite place to gather in pleasant surroundings. Also good for solitary walks with the dog.

Cheltenham golf club is located in the heart of Victoria's wonderful sandbelt golf region, just 30 minutes from the CBD. A pocket of nature in an urban environment, the golf course is a haven for local birdlife and it's wonderful hills, fairways and greens are enjoyed by many.

I visited with my children (one boy, one girl, 8-12yo) for a one hour coaching session. AIM Archery Club is an indoor archery range. We visited in the school holidays, at lunchtime.
Erich gave the three of us a personal coaching session, starting with bow safety and range safety, before allowing us to shoot at the targets. We received individual advice to improve our bow skills, and within half an hour we were all grouping our shots. My children were at first hesitant, but by the end of the session were reluctant to leave and are keen to return.
Other families had coaching sessions immediately before and after us.
This is a great activity - give it a go and you'll have at least a fun one hour. Your children must be well behaved and able to follow instructions, for their safety.

For my 70th Birthday, my daughter booked a cooking lesson at Relish Mama for a mother and daughter experience. We both love to cook and decided to try our hand at Indian cooking. We were not disappointed and had a wonderful day together. There were about 20 in the class and we all had the opportunity to be hands on in the kitchen. After 3 hours we sat down to enjoy the fruits of our labour with good company and a glass of wine. I have since successfully tried the recipes provided by our great teacher. A wonderful gift and more special because I shared the day with my daughter.

Westfield Southland is one of Cheltenham's premier shopping destinations. Home to the world's leading retail brands, Westfield Southland has everything you need in clothing, homewares, fresh food, electronics, sports gear and health and beauty products. You will also find Village Cinemas, for the latest in big-screen entertainment, as well as a fine selection of formal and casual dining options.
I'm a staff member at Westfield Southland and have been for many years. Since ticketed parking has recently been introduced to the centre, the whole system has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Having to pay $5 to just go to work is ridiculous, and considering the "Staff Parking" fills up by about 11:30 am, I've often been left stressed out trying to find a park where I won't be overcharged, and many staff members have been late to work because of this issue.
With Christmas shopping making the centre busier than ever, more staff are needed, but there is not enough parking. On Friday I was directed by a woman who worked for the Southland Concierge to park anywhere, because the staff parking was full, and she assured me I would only be charged the discounted staff $5 price. Upon leaving the centre after a 9 hour shift, at the gates I was charged $18. I am still in the process of trying to follow this up, and I definitely will not be parking at Southland again anytime soon after that experience.
I cannot express enough how deeply disappointed I am by this whole system, and how staff members who come to Southland to make a living, are often the ones left out of pocket.
