Centro de Arte Los Galpones

Reviewed By vicentequintero - Caracas, Venezuela

Excellent location, but the place is really boring. I have been to all the museums of Caracas and this is not really worth your visit. The Afroamerican Museum in San Bernardino (private) is way better than this.
The art galleries are boring. People are nice and well-mannered. The library is cool. Everything else here is better than the art galleries.
Good place to have a coffee and sit with your friends, but there are better museums to get in touch with the local culture. MAC is still better than this - even it is not what is used to be -.

Saint Martin's Church (La Iglesia de San Martin)

At the center of town, Saint Martin's Church is a reminder of La Colonia Tovar's German history. The church's L-shape and stunning stained-glass windows make it well worth a trip.

The entire town is like a fairytale. Very nice architecture, beautiful properties, great German hospitality and food, and great views of the valley and Mountains.

Parque Fernando Penalver

Reviewed By Cachapalover - Minnesota

If you are spending any time in Valencia, Venezuela, be sure to visit Parque Fernando Penalver. It is a huge, peaceful oasis in an otherwise noisy, traffic-filled, mostly concrete city. When viewing the park from the freeway, you wonder why anyone would build a park right there beside it. The other side borders on a quieter area leading towards La Vina and El Vinedo areas.
Once you have entered, however, it is like a breath of fresh air, with walking/jogging trails that you can take several hours to cover if you stop to take in the varied trees/plant life, or take time to sit on the benches situated in calm or off the beaten trail areas. The trails wind their way through both the sun and shade. There are some attractive Bridges to cross from which you can take in the rather uncared for winding river, and there is an area with a burst of beautiful color from a Venezuelan flag display, which I believe is near some historical statues. I must also mention that there is an occasional concession area or cart vendor, and you might encounter a mounted police man or woman. If you're an animal lover, be on the lookout for interesting birds, squirrels, or a large and cute but timid rodent called chiguire. To top off the interesting features of this park, they have music piped in at some points along the trails, and there is some interesting artwork on display here and there. Definitely worth visiting.

I love Cepe because is more relaxed and with less people than Choroni. I mean, Choroni has all the party and fun, but if you want to be more on your own, do a trekking to the Chorreron, a waterfall, check and eat proper Cacao, the best of the world, you have to go to Cepe. Is quiet, is magic, clean and friendly. There are some nice guest houses where you can stay and is a short trip by boat from Choroni.

Playa Uricao

Reviewed By Marc_An_13 - Paris, France

When you get to the town of Choroni, ask the posada to hire a "piragua", a boat to take you to Uricao beach. It's a 20 minutes ride alongside the coast before reaching this wonderful beach, with the intense green of the forest behind, a nice strip of sand and the blue waters of the caribbean just for you. Be sure to ask the boat driver to pick up before 4 pm, before the tide gets too high. Need to take everything, from umbrella to snacks and drinks, as there are no services on the beach. All of this can be supplied by the lodge (posada) you are likely to be in.

Parque Los Aviadores

Reviewed By Monicsk - Charlotte, North Carolina

This mall is one of the newest and largest mall in Venezuela but it's not a place to spend your time at. Most of the stores are closed and it's not a 'safe' mall due to its location. At this time in 2017, Venezuela is not a safe country in general, so you have to be careful where you go for leisure.
