Don't waste precious petrol and time to visit these "rochers". Route/highway markers are very few and far between. There are many glacial formations in this region. Some are interesting to behold but none of them achieve "rock star" status. Trails are not easy to navigate, over rocks, tree roots, etc. One of the rocks "Le Rocher D' oiel" is 1/3 of a mile from parking area. These formations are not easily reached by someone 70 plus. The park is nicely situated up the right bank of the small and shallow Agout river, tributary to the Tarn. We took the "Coche d'eau" bark from Castres town, shuttling up and down the river every hour. During the trip we spotted a kingfisher bird. The park consists of a large green esplanade up a modest hill with a watch tower (sadly closed) and a nice old villa. From a bench we watched people practising their putting on a neighbouring golf course. The park was nice and quiet but the boat tour was superbe!

Jean-Jaures was a seminal figure in the history of European politics - he could reasonably be considered the founder of modern democratic socialism. Castres is proud of him as a favorite son and this museum is devoted to his life and work. For those of us who care about history, human rights, workers' rights or peace this is an important place to visit. You need to read French to get the most from it, but the museum is well worth the time.

The whole church, the music, the opportunity to light a candle. Relique de Saint Remy. It was a lovely building
