Canet de Mar (Catalan pronunciation: [kaˈnɛd də ˈmar]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between Arenys de Mar and Sant Pol de Mar. el Corredor and el Montnegre ranges. It is an important tourist centre, but is also known for the cultivation of flowers and strawberries and for having several modernist style buildings. It is served by the main N-II road along the coast, the highway C-32 and by a station on the RENFE railway line.

I was intrigued by Canet's many examples of Modernisme architecture and so it was lovely to be able to see inside one of the best examples.
There was some work going on, and not everything was working perfectly. Nevertheless it's a lovely house to explore and there's a fair amount to see. There are some audio points in English which was helpful, and I found I could manage the display posts alternating between Catalan, Spanish and French as needed. He was certainly an interesting man and his house reflects that.
Check the website carefully for the slightly restricted opening hours. At €3, the entry is good value.

Una experiencia que recomiendo. El paseo es muy bonito y todo amenizado por Jordi nuestro guía, que cuida de nosotros durante todo el recorrido y que además da explicaciones por las zona que vamos pasando.
Totalmente recomendable.

At the northern end of Sant Pol de Mar, the Ermita de Sant Pau is the northern landmark of this small attractive, historic town. The Ermita was previously a Benedictine abbey, but history then saw many changes in ownership, usage and in the addition of many architectural styles. Slightly brooding, definitely a defensive stronghold, and yet a pleasing symbol of this charming town.
Situated on a hillside obviously yields great views from the Ermita - which unfortunately appears to be closed to the public - but that climb up from Sant Pol town centre is certainly worth it for the views across the bay.

We were told this was a famous cemetery, and one to see, but we were not expecting the most beautiful cemetery filled with colour and life.
A place for those parted but who are still celebrated as being part of the family.
A colourful, joyful, vibrant place to bring the entire family to remember with fondness the past.
Not a sad place at all, a place of love for all ages.
A place for those of the town to rest finally with their friends and neighbours in closeness and peace..... as they lived so they finally rest.
I think we in England, in small villages and towns could take something from this.......I just kept saying"how beautiful".
Extremely well worth a visit for a little peace and sense of what life, and death, is all about.

These towers are located on the top of the hill on the south side of Calella. Its a fairly steep climb to get up there but offers good views over the lighthouse ond on to Calella beyond. Not particularly attractive in them selves its more about the views they offer.

Cute Castle destroyed by a non stop, convulsive guide talker whose most interest is mixing the real history behind this beautiful building with her own poor , confusing and sophocating knowledge of Catalan history. Please do not accept any guide to avoid spoiling the visit !!!

This is an extraordinary if not eccentric museum, which holds the large collections of Mares. There is lots to see here, however the counter staff can be a little grumpy. Also, the museum is stuffy due to a lack of air conditioning.

Situated in the Civic offices (Ajuntment), the Sant Pol de Mar tourist information centre / Oficina de Turisme has very helpful and enthusiastic staff. As my skills in Spanish are very extremely limited and totally non existent in the Catalan language the staff here were able to help with some details as to what to see, and where about it is in this lovely Catalan town.
Great helpful people here.

Endroit très agréable dans une pinède (même en cas de forte chaleur). Les enfants se sont bien amusés et ont fait les 4 parcours. Accueil très sympatique.
