Shaded spots go early at Cape Town's crowded Camps Bay, where locals picnic and play in the strong Atlantic waves. Look for the flagged bathing areas for safer swims for all the family. Festive cafes sit adjacent to the sands, which are dramatically set at the foot of the Twelve Apostles mountains.

Just up Kloof Nek Road from the center of town is this thriving beach community. Plenty of trendy nightclubs, shops and cafes bring diners and shoppers, while tranquil seas and fine white sand draw sun worshippers and swimmers.
This is one of our favourite places in South Africa, our children (now adults) love it. Beautiful views of the see, table mountain and the 12 apostles

I watched a production of Hamlet at this intimate theatre, with the smell of the gorgeous ocean greeting you as you enter. The theatre has a small restaurant on the first floor, with coffee and eats available at the entrance too. Staff were friendly and helpful. The production was excellent, sound was very good and the stage was creatively designed. The main role was particularly well performed. Overall, a very pleasant evening out.

While this is a tourist hotspot with fantastic views it is a best kept secret from those that live in Cape Town as fantastic, old fashioned scones and tea. If it is not too windy, the deck outside is gorgeous and if windy and not too busy you can sit inside. The service is fantastic; from the bellboys downstairs to every staff member you meet you get a courteous and joyful greeting; not just a formulaic hello. At the restaurant we where helped by Katherine and Thandi. We changed seats three times because we wanted to sit outside but the wind kept forcing the automatic awnings to close. They tried to override but could not. They could not have been more helpful even though we were a nuisance. I saw them do the same for all the guests. As I said the scones, coffee and tea was great. The inside is beautiful if slightly kitch - fake leopard fur (well it is the leopard bar and leopards used to be plentiful in the area) and a sort of "out of africa" vibe
This is our secret place and you should not hesitate

On top we had a very interesting conversation which made...MoreWe agree with you Karin, Meghan is absolutely amazing and an excellent conversationalist. We went for couples treatments and were quite disappointed. The massages were average and the staff not very friendly. I thought the view and location would be more of a highlight, but it wasn't. The Jacuzzi, snacks and sauna is underground without any windows, so you don't get the joy of the location of the 12 apostles and it smells damp and mouldy.
The area is small and crowded and not very relaxing to celebrate a special occasion if you take into account the price you pay to have all of this. I would not return.
