Calella (Catalan pronunciation: [kəˈɫeʎə]) is a seaside city on the Costa del Maresme, 58 km northeast of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is located on the coast between Sant Pol de Mar and Pineda de Mar. Prior to the arrival of tourism in the 1960s, economic activity of the town was primarily focused on textile manufacture and fishing.

Located between the beach road/train line from the train station.There are a few bar/restaurant/cafes along the walk. Mostly in the shade just off the beach.Whilst we were there they were preparing for the yearly Calella festival,so access was limited. Lots of joggers use the pass,but so do lots of Spanish with their dogs..beware poo! poos!

These towers are located on the top of the hill on the south side of Calella. Its a fairly steep climb to get up there but offers good views over the lighthouse ond on to Calella beyond. Not particularly attractive in them selves its more about the views they offer.

El Faro de Calella se encuentra situado en la cima de un promontorio de unos 50 metros de altitud. En el lugar dónde ahora está el faro, había una Antigua torre de vigilancia y defensa, que vigilaba y protegía las costas del peligro de los ataques de los piratas argelinos. El actual edificio se encuentra a 41°, 36’, 40” de latitud norte y a 8°, 51’, 38” de longitud este del meridiano de Sant Ferran y está clasificado como faro de tercer orden. Una R.O. del 9 de octubre de 1856 inició los trabajos de edificación del faro, que finalmente bajo la dirección del ingeniero Marià Parellada, pudo ser inaugurado el día 15 de diciembre de 1859.

This is reachable from Calella. There is a climb but not too steep or at least I did not find it so.
The lighthouse overlook the town and the view out to sea is also impressive. I don't unfortunately know the history behind it placement in this spot

We went to the park to visit the shelter which unfortunately was closed, it's a lovely park though with plenty of shade on a hot day and very peaceful and tranquil, it would not suit those with walking difficulties as it is very much uphill walking.

A nice intimate muesum displaying early Calella life.
The various language information cards in each room were very helpful and kept the tour interactive.
I loved the minerals on display behind the curtain, the UV light showed off what preciousness the Earth has.
Even though the muesum is dated it was a pleasant tour and is a must!
Can't go wrong for 2 Euros! Also Entry automatically gets you admission to Museu del Turisme!

The altar in this church is beautiful. In no way ostentatious, really quite simple but stunning. The church is set in the middle of a square but once inside you would not believe all the hustle and bustle is going on around you.

One of several pretty coves, reached to south of Calella's stretch of rocky coast at the southern end of its long beach by 2 steep stairways. At the top, we walked above small nudist coves to Cala Roca Pins marked by a sign for the restaurant RocaPins. Use steep stairway down thru restaurant to beautiful beach [not used by naturists] and with good catering and beach facilities. We enjoyed gorgeous swimming and sunbathing there in a lesser known location. It was our favourite! Another stairway through a tunnel under the road will take you to or from a car park if you arrive by car.

В Испании Pau Casals прославился не только как талантливый виолончелист, дирижёр, композитор, но и как активный общественный деятель. Памятники ему можно найти везде в Каталонии: в Барселоне в парке Туро, в Монсеррат и вот увидела памятник этому замечательному человеку здесь, на курорте Калелья.
