Broadstairs is a coastal town on the Isle of Thanet in the Thanet district of east Kent, England, about 80 miles (130 km) east of London. It is part of the civil parish of Broadstairs and St Peter's, which includes St Peter's, and had a population in 2011 of about 25,000. Situated between Margate and Ramsgate, Broadstairs is one of Thanet's seaside resorts, known as the "jewel in Thanet's crown". The town's crest's Latin motto is Stella Maris ("Star of the Sea"). The name derives from a former flight of steps in the chalk cliff, which led from the sands up to the 11th-century shrine of St Mary on the cliff's summit.

Viking Bay is beautiful. We visited mid-March as the second “beast from the east” presented itself. It snowed for the first two days but somehow this only added to the ruggedness if the coastline. It certainly didn’t put a couple of local surfers off. Being off season meant that all amenities were closed but the beach huts and the Promenade are all beautifully maintained. It must be amazing in summer!

This is a lovely beach as are all the Beaches in Broadstairs, it on the extreme left of Viking Beach that is in front of Broadstairs, if you are staying and camping it is not far from camping sites, it is also quite but well liked by the locals.

Beautiful clean sandy beach. Not as crowded as the main beach at Broadstairs.
Excellent facilities: VERY clean toilets, large car park, shop/ cafe, life guards and a children's area containing bouncy Castles. You could purchase a days pass for the children's area for £5 and the children could use it as much as they liked.
Was pleased to see on both of our visits there was a litter collector patrolling.
Beach is sandy and has easy access to rock pools at either end.
Car Park cost £7 for four hours if you used the app rather than cash.
Watch out for sea gulls who are very brazen about stealing packed lunches!!!

Having to rewrite this review ok...
The beach itself is pleasant and more for the locals than tourists, as many aren't aware it exits!!!
However it is over run with dog walkers, many of which allow aggressive dogs off the leads, which in turn attack other dogs.
I have been involved in one of these incident with the police getting involved. Here's hoping the council bring back dog licences!!!

The Little art Gallery is exactly that, little, but we pack a lot in a small space. Come and see over 300 original paintings, prints and handmade crafts by local artists. We pride ourselves on being affordable, so you may be surprised just how little an original piece of art work will cost here. We can be commissioned to paint anything from your pet to your favourite scene. IMy eye was caught by the lovely local artowrk in this small but distinctive art gallery. I happliy browsed and realised it featured two local artists- one clearly favoured land and seascapes and the other, nature studies. Broadstairs is one of our favourite seaside towns to visit for the day.
It has an uncommercialised seafront with victorian architecture. Sandy Beaches. Free on street parking.
Louisa Bay beach on the south side of the town is a smaller beach and has a beach cafe on the promanade.
BUT during our visit yesterday afternoon we saw several loose dogs on the beach running freely and playing with their owners. There was no sign of enforcement officers to issue on the spot fines.
NB dogs are not allowed on the beach during the day 1st May to 30th September.
Also could do with more litter bins in the area.

Quaint traditional village well connected by buses to Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs. The church is the focus of the village surrounded by well maintained Gardens and perfectly preserved country homes. Lovely place for a afternoon we brought food from the Co Op and sat in the lovely square surrounded by Roses however there is a nice looking pub nearby if you fancy a proper meal.

This museum is set in the old town waterworks and features Railways, transport and local history. The tower is named after Thomas Crampton, a famous designer of locomotives and Railways.
Displays include examples of Crampton’s working drawings and models, copies of his patents, and some of the many awards that he was given. I particularly liked the 1860 stage coach and there are records of local Railways, electric trams and motor buses.
Model railway enthusiasts will find this museum of particular interest as it has seven working model Railways. The trains are very well laid out with plenty of interesting items for the children to play with, an interactive display and quizzes to keep them occupied The volunteer staff were pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable.
The Crampton Tower Museum is well worth a visit.
