Broadstairs is a coastal town on the Isle of Thanet in the Thanet district of east Kent, England, about 80 miles (130 km) east of London. It is part of the civil parish of Broadstairs and St Peter's, which includes St Peter's, and had a population in 2011 of about 25,000. Situated between Margate and Ramsgate, Broadstairs is one of Thanet's seaside resorts, known as the "jewel in Thanet's crown". The town's crest's Latin motto is Stella Maris ("Star of the Sea"). The name derives from a former flight of steps in the chalk cliff, which led from the sands up to the 11th-century shrine of St Mary on the cliff's summit.

Finding ourselves back in Broadstairs after a long day we were delighted to get a table here without having booked, having eaten here on a previous visit. It was early evening, just after 7.00pm, so the place wasn't very busy, although people soon arrived in numbers. We both ordered the specials, a delicious and unusual lentil spinach soup, followed by duck breast and sauté potatoes. My duck was deliciously pink but my partner's was slightly rare for her taste and went off for a few more minutes' heat. We were well looked-after throughout and left fortified to face an incredibly cold night.

Visited 23/12 at lunch time. Walked in without a reservation and they were very welcoming.
Friendly service from who I believe is the manager. Very helpful, knowledgable and prompt service.
Delicious complimentary bread and a palette cleanser between courses - probably should have warned us it contained alcohol but we didn't mind!
Food was wonderful - only feedback would be that the batter on the seabass goujons was a little doughy / heavy. Main course of duck breast was fantastic! Too full for dessert unfortunately.
Although we were the last in the restaurant we weren't made to feel at all rushed whilst we finished our wine and chatted.
Reasonably priced for the quality. Would absolutely recommend!

From our bread, with is baked daily, to our homemade desserts ( & popular ice-creams) the kitchen team use only the freshest ingredients to create food that will satisfy & comfort. The front of house staff will be discreet & professional tinged with humour when appropriate. We hope our love of good food & good times will shine through during your visit
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu choice is reasonable, particularly with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity and the imagination on courses is mouthwatering.
We were not rushed at all and enjoyed the excellent quality food and drink (helpful hints on suggestions within the menu against some of the main courses) over lunch time.
The food was well presented and served with a smile.
All in all, a very good experience.

Our party arrived and were warmly greeted by Lemoni, the Restaurant Manager. The four course Sunday Lunch offers great value at £21 per head and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The staff were efficient, attentive and friendly - a perfect combination. If you're thinking of Sunday Lunch st the Frigate, make sure you book as it's very popular.

The name seems a bit modernist, but have no fear, it is not full of people eating twenty different varieties of avocado on toast. The menu is strictly traditional. Fish and chips, of course. Daily specials, including lamb and mint pie. Of course.
Opting for the pie, it duly arrived complete with a set of vegetables and roast potatoes. The starter had to be prawn cocktail. All washed down with tea for one.
Very friendly service and a decor that is both bright and cosy without ever feeling cramped. . Best to arrive early. At 12:15 the place was packed, many of whom were clearly regulars.

Recently I had the pleasure of lunching at Corby's Tea Rooms and once again it was absolutely superb in every respect. Their lasagne dish is to die for ...no wonder the place is so busy ...it really is 5 star and puts a number of other places to shame.

Thanet's Favourite Greek Restaurant, a family run business that treats you as if you are part of their family. Homemade traditional food cooked to perfection in the heart of Broadstairs, Kent.
We had a beautifully cooked and presented valentines dinner in the newly refurbished restaurant, with a truly warm welcome from Peter, the new manager, and all of his staff! The starters filled the table, with a seemingly endless pitta basket and plenty of dips to smother it all in. Our steak main was the tender and juicy, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! We barely had room for the huge fresh fruit platter dessert, and the homemade baclava, but when it tastes that good we made it fit!!
The chef even made us a warm halloumi and feta salad to take home after I mentioned how much my wife likes halloumi, which was just the icing on the cake of a very relaxed night of great food and a very friendly atmosphere!
We will be be back for the meze soon, thanks to the whole team at The Greek for a lovely evening!

We are a small independent family run business and have been happily serving Broadstairs for nearly 20 years. Previously Da had a small restaurant in Margate, we have been serving Thanet for nearly 27 years. We buy our main ingredients fresh daily and try to use as much fresh produce as possible. All our food is cooked an prepared fresh to order.
First visit, and went on the reviews. Not disappointed, food great, good atmosphere, great service, and inexpensive. Will definitely be back!

We have just opened in Broadstairs high street and serve a very different style of food, perfect if you fancy a bit of a change to your normal taste. For the couple of days we have been open already, we have had no complants and the plates come back clean and the customers leave very satisfided and full.

Sadly we waited for a drink order, then waited sometime before someone took our food order, plates came out one at a time with delays in between, we did not think the dishes had the same attention to detail as previous visits, because of the amount of people still ordering food, which may have put pressure on the chef.
Will try again, but may not go when fully booked.
