This yearly event is one of the most popular things in Brande. The art pieces are spread all over town, and vary greatly. This is definitely something worth seeing if you are in the area.

Skovsnogen is an exhibition space that is not defined by walls or ceiling, but unfolds under the open sky in a West Jutland forest. Skovsnogen confronts traditional ideas about the encounter between art and audience, and gives artists new opportunities to create and present their works. Skovsnogen conveys contemporary art to a new audience in a manner that does not require prior knowledge, but gives everyone an opportunity to experience the art.
Loved it! We went for a long walk and explored the art in the woods. It's really great, and I highly recommend this. Especially for families with kids.

Enjoy a day in the animal kingdom – GIVSKUD ZOO is only a 25-minute drive from Billund. Take the family on safari in your own car or on the GIVSKUD ZOO Safari Bus. You drive across the African savannah, where zebras and giraffes have right of way. Continue into the Lions' Den and feel the thrill as the big cats lumber past your car. Throughout most of the season, the gorillas, lemurs and other species are fed daily. Children are welcome to help the zoo guide feed the camels. If you need to take a break, GIVSKUD ZOO has lots to offer the whole family – it's a great place to play, relax and have fun! Visit the teepee camp, where children can bake bonfire bread and pan for gold.Let the children run wild on our huge play area and stroke the goats. And don't forget to see our Tyrannosaurus Rex and the other fascinating giants of the past in our Dinosaur Park. It's the biggest collection of dinosaurs in Denmark. Welcome to GIVSKUD ZOO.
Since we were visiting Billund area for more prolonged period of time (around a week of stay to be exact) on this trip we also looked for the attraction to be attended with kids except for Legoland and Lalandia, so Givskud zoo was obvious choice (I've looked it on previous visit but we didn't have enough time), especially due to the fact that we were travelling by car and for this place this is very welcome since otherwise getting there with small children maybe a bit tricky. If you are going there by car - which is best thing to do, taking in account how this place is built, - you will need to drive around half an hour from Billund, and at some places road is really picturesque and not so flat as you may expect from Denmark, is certain place you'll experience even something like hairpin bends :) on the hilly part of it.
The park itself is quite nice and big, tickets quiet pricey (and what is not in Denmark) but actually we visited there twice - since we had resort passes from Lalandia which included unlimited access both to Legoland and Givskud zoo during period of the stay - and if you are planning more than one visit to the zoo I highly recommendget either their annual ticket (price actually bit less than two single visit ticket as far as I recall), or if you staying at Lalandia to upgrade to aforementioned resort pass. On the first time visit we've arrived to park around 4 hours before closing time, there were not much visitors already and we were not yet aware that the best experience in order to see the animals would be to drive through the park in car, so we took a walk instead first. Actually walking is also OK, but mostly in terms of seeing smaller animals, visiting goat pens, and animals which require special conditions (like the tropical ones), also kids participated in the "gold mining" attraction which fairly to say was twice cheaper then same in Legoland, maybe not so fancy organized but anyway "gold medal" was handed to each "miner", as well as free Indian bread available for baking (this paid separately in Legoland) - on the side note, I can say that most same things like ice cream, slushy ice and so on are if not twice cheaper than in Legoland, but close to it.
After that we finally decided to took safari by car, and that's were it got even more interesting. As usual in such parks small animals is often hard to spot, but the big ones was visible just perfectly and from the very small distance - it's a breathtaking experience to see buffalo or giraffe at the length of your hands, as well as full grown male lion crossing road just in front of your car. As I understood we got lucky on the first visit since we met with lions just after entering their territory and needn't to drive around to find them. Also you can by audio guide in various languages for safari in form of a CD, but maybe they are available on usb stick as well, we didn't bought any on first visit (mostly because that was not offered at the gates) and decided not to on the second.
Then we visited (by foot) Dinosaur section of the park, and again we were pleasantly surprised, we leaving nearby such place ourselves (dedicated dinosaur theme park - you can check my review on it) so we have something to compare with, and I say Givskud Zoo dino sections beats local park in all aspects. Figures nicely incorporated in the scenery not just scattered here and there without any plot, most of them accessible for kids to touch and so on, also "paleontology camp" area is fun for kids, with some sandbox games like finding shark tooth (son found at least one) and semi-precious gems, interactive game of hatching your dinosaur, finding real fossils in limestone.
On the second visit we arrived half and hour after opening, and I should say there were much more people and cars, this time our goal was to see animals not seen on the first visit, and children playground areas which our daughter was very eager to explore but due to the closing of the park not fulfilled last time. The second time was no less pleasant than the first one, we again got to see animals like gorillas, and smaller monkeys running freely, mongooses, giant otters (and see the fed) and other small animals and birds, visit all available Playgrounds to the kids' heart contents.
To sum up, it is really good place for a walk with kids, even if you're not so interested in animals - actually as I've noticed many locals, or just frequent visitors were just using zoo as a good place for picnicking, since they've just taken some place which are in abundance there, opened their hampers, fired grills and not bothering at all about animals, safari and other things you usually expecting while visiting zoo. Actually our second visit was closer to this scheme as well. Anyway, the place is really worth a visit or two, and I say it should be not a short visits, as you'll have plenty to see and do either by foot, or by car, but as I've wrote previously, visiting by car is preferred as you will have more flexibility in getting to the place and on site as well.

The small town of Give, Denmark, is home to a small gem of a museum. Exhibits include the history of local life and culture, and feature an actual farm house and one-room school. Why did I want to go there? Because I heard that there was a monument to the state of Minnesota on the grounds, and I am from Minnesota, so I had to see it. It was a small rock castle of some sort built by a Danish gentleman who had lived in Minnesota for two years in the 1940's and who wanted to honor his second home. However. the museum is just part of the larger community center that hosts a variety of programs throughout the year. What did I enjoy most about the museum? Anna, one of the friendly employees, took us back to the kitchen where she taught us how too cook pancakes on a flip griddle on the wood stove. We ate them with fresh berries, powdered sugar, and whipped cream while we sipped strong Danish coffee. Yummy good fun!

Her ses mindetavler fra 1848-1864, her ses kalkmalerier og smukke prædikestole. Men vigtigst - her høres gode prædikener.
