Boryeong (Korean pronunciation: [po.ɾjʌŋ]), commonly known as Daecheon, is a city in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. It is located on the coast of the Yellow Sea. It lies on the Janghang Line railroad, which connects it to Seoul via the Gyeongbu Line. It is also connected to the Seohaean Expressway. Boryeong is known around Korea for its beaches, particularly Daecheon Beach, and its annual mud festival around July, Boryeong Mud Festival. The city's beach-mud is widely touted for its cosmetic properties. As elsewhere along the southwest coast of the Korean peninsula, there are numerous small islands, many of which are connected by ferry to Daecheon Port.

I and my wife visited this beach in vacation. Because of visiting November, so there was not many people and quiet. The seaview was not bad, and along beach line, there was many clam and sashimi restaurant. We were satisfied with winter beach and quiet atmosphere. There was good place to enjoy in summer, but there was good in winter, too.

This place is a great beach because it's really sandy and clean, but one of the greatest attractions would be the Boryeong Mud Festival held annually. Equipped with many different blown-up games that you can play with friends while doused in mud, it is great fun for the entire family as well as friends.
On top of that, the mud is known to be good for your skin. Of course, with less people it would be less queuing time for you and more chances to play the different games available. Though, a little bit of the fun comes from throwing mud water on other people and getting mud water thrown on you as well!
By far one of the most fun festivals attended!

Sapsido is a quiet, uncommercial island, a short boat ride from crowded and busy Korea. The Beaches are clean and the ocean is clearer than those on the Mainland. This is not a party or shopping spot. The only thing to do is relax and have fun. Almost all of the residents offer some kind of service to tourists, either a guestroom, a restaurant or a convienience shop. Those are about all the services available. You want to come with that in mind. Very few locals speak english, but they are friendly and welcoming. The island is small enough that you can walk across it, but you may not have to as locals may offer you a lift from the ferry dock. This island can easily be visited as a day trip, but you may want to bring a book or fall asleep on the beach.
