Devils in the dark showcases the iconic Tasmanian devil at night. This amazing animal can be seen at many parks and zoos but the opportunity to see this nocturnal animal come to life after dark in an as wild as possible setting is very special and unique. Devils in the dark was established by a wildlife expert with 30 years of experience viewing Tasmanian devils in the wild places of Tasmania.
This is an amazing opportunity to see "Devils" in their own environment. Included is wine & cheese while we waited for our excellent guide Leon to also set up dinner for the Devils. Leon provided interesting and factual information on the disease and vaccination process going on in the reserve.

Guided tour to see little penguins come ashore on the beach each evening.
The staff are very friendly and informative. All of my questions were answered in a manner that gave me confidence in their knowledge and caring nature for these little penguins. Unfortunately they are in moult in February, so we didn't see too many, but not from lack of trying by the guides. I would like to try again at a different time of year.

Bicheno blowhole is natural wonder. I was astonished by its beauty. It’s half an hour drive from Coles bay. Everyone visits Coles bay. I feel that it will be a wasted opportunity if you have not visited Bicheno blowhole inspire of travelling until wineglass bay . Please do visit this lovely place.

Took my granddaughter out for the midday trip on the wonderful Glass Bottom Boat. What a terrific tourist experience. The ‘ Boat Captain ‘ is a complete natural and one of the tourist attraction operators we should all be proud of. Possessed with an easy friendly manner and a wealth of knowledge about all things marine related and passed onto the guests in an interesting way.
Really so much to see in a relatively small area in the gulch but so so interesting.
Definitely recommend !

The museum was also reviewed in the August 2017 edition of the Australian Motorcyclist - which I read the afternoon after visiting the museum. It has a great collection of stunningly restored or maintained bikes of interest to many. And pedal cars and bicycles were great too. As a recent returnee to motorcycling it was great to see the bikes that were around when I first started riding.
The collection is well presented and the lighting and interpretation is very good. Andrew was not in but his Mum filled in for him very well!

We took the back way up to whalers lookout which was a bit tougher than we expected. Take the posted path up for a more enjoyable walk
There are two Lookouts at the top, looking out over town the other overlooking the 'back each'
Magnificent views from both look outs. Take the time to stop and take in the view.

This information centre is staffed by the friendliest lady we have come across on this trip. Very knowledgeable about the local area and extremely helpful this is your first stop when you arrive into town.

Fishing Charters. We offer fishing charters and marine tours. So if you are an experienced or novice fisher we have charters to suit. If you have not fished before then Skipper Greg will show you how to cast and reel in a fish. Greg will fillet and bag your catch for you to take home. All equipment supplied. Experience the beautiful East coast water and learn about the history and marine life.
Had a great start to the day with Greg putting is right on top of some really big flathead. We were also catching couta. Also got to watch some dolphins swimming around us!
Unfortunately, due to illness for one of our group, we had to finish early. Greg the proprietor was excellent - well organised, prepared and a great bloke. He even contacted us later to check on our sick person.

We did the easier walk down to the waterhole and back out using nearly the same trail. For those who want to hike the boulders in the creek bed when it's dry: wear good hiking boots, bring walking sticks and know your limitations. If you have problem knees or ankles or are otherwise not ready to tackle those rocks you may quickly find yourself in trouble. It looks like great fun for those who are up for the challenge!
