I recommend that you go here as part of a wine-tasting pass, as you will enjoy more generous samples than if you just show up. The wines are generally good, and my preference is their reds. The most outstanding liquour is the Dolce Piccante Graspa...MoreHi! Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoy the dolce piccante - it's one of our favourites too! One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara with vineyards first planted in 1980. Thirty Bench has hit full stride in the last few years with the focus on small lots of low-yield handcrafted wines. The winery has earned numerous accolades, including Canada's Best Small Winery of the Year 2015 and Winemaker of the Year 2015. Single-block, old-vine Rieslings are the soul of Thirty Bench; equally fine reds and Chardonnays have also emerged since the 2005 vintage. At the winery, enjoy personalized seated tastings with beautiful views of the vineyards and Lake Ontario in the distance. A visit to the rustic winery, or joining their email list, is the best way to access the winery's new and library wines.

This is a beautiful facility, a repurposed church building done very nicely. The wines were very good, and we purchased a few.

We loved the atmosphere at this small estate winery, which not only included an educational wine tasting experience, but was a wonderful setting for a picnic lunch that we had brought with us, accompanied by a glass of their excellent Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine. We stopped in hoping for more of the Gold Medal 2014 Marsanne, but discovered it was sold out so purchased some of the 2015 for comparison. Our biggest regret is not allowing enough time to enjoy the relaxed, comfortable patio and views of the vineyard on one of the few hot summer days of 2017! Food is available for purchase.

Had a lovely time tasting a selection of wines and meads here! Everything was of good quality and very reasonably priced. The vineyards are also beautiful and it's worth just taking a little stroll around once the tasting is done!
The Cyser mead is a must-try. Absolutely delicous!

It's rare that I give a 1/5 rating, especially for a winery, but I just could not believe what a disappointing experience I had at Fielding. My fiance and I were touring the area and picking up several bottles of wine (we had already gone to Peninsula Ridge and Thirty Bench and had other places to stop by) on Saturday, August 19th. We were really excited about sampling wines at Fielding because we read about their award-winning wines, and had read reviews about how delicious they were. Sadly, I never got a chance to find out for myself.
When we walked in we went to the bar and were immediately greeted by a friendly server. She gave us a wine list and we began with a sparking rose. As she poured it, I could see that it was the last bit of the bottle and it did not have many bubbles. It had obviously gone flat. I couldn't even finish it, but my fiance drank it all because he didn't want to waste it. Regardless, we mentioned that it was flat and she said, "it was opened today". It was the middle of the afternoon, so that bottle could have been opened that morning for all we know.
Trying not to ruin the rest of the tasting, we asked to try the pinot noir next. Our server said of course, but she ended up leaving to cash out some customers. We literally waited almost 10 minutes at the bar (because we REALLY wanted to try their wines and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt), and no one came up to us to to see if we needed anything. Our initial server was still at cash and seemed to have forgotten us.
At that point, I was really angry. I have almost a decade's worth of customer service experience, and that day at Fielding was one of the worst winery experiences I ever had. I left a twoonie to at the bar to pay for the flat sparkling rose sample and walked out. I will not be going back.

If you go to any wine tour on the peninsula , make sure this is on your list. Everything is clean and inviting and the staff, who were quite busy , were very pleasant to deal with. Sitting on the Beamsville bench, these vineyards produce exquisite wines all priced reasonably . I have not tried the restaurant yet but as a will go back I will look forward to that. If you like dessert wines make sure you try the 2006 Ratafia. Superb !!

I shied away from these place and always stuck to the wineries.
Why?
It's run the same.
Very different product and it's fun.
I'm not a gin drinker but we bought Orangechello.
I never had it before and it's very good.
This breaks up all the wine tasting.
The servers were great and ready to have fun.
This place should be added to the itinerary.

In the end - we had a nice visit and drank some good wine, but were disappointed by the really poor customer service. We had emailed extensively beforehand to book a tasting and charcuterie plate for 6. When we got there we were greeted with 'No - we can't do that for you.' When shown the email - the man telling us this recognized his own email - but was insistent and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that there would be no charcuterie forthcoming. Even more annoying - we saw other people eating while we were there. I can deal with not getting the food, but the complete lack of concern is a reason to never go back. This was a special day for us - friends were visiting from Toronto; we'd rented a limo. And their failure made us all hangry. All I can say is thank goodness for the surprise taco truck at 30 Bench and the cheese plate at Fielding Estates!
