Bardez is the name of a region and taluka in North Goa. The name is credited to the Brahmin immigrants who migrated to the Konkan via Magadha in Gangetic India from Āryāvarta, in the north-western part of the Indian sub-continent. Bardez or more properly Bara (twelve) desh (country) means "twelve countries" (or lands). The form "country" probably refers to clan territorial limits, or to the Brahmin comunidades, of which the twelve, in no particular order, are Aldona, Moira, Olaulim, Nachinola, Siolim, Anjuna, Candolim, Serula, Saligao, Sangolda, Assagao and Pomburpa

A clean, quiet beach with good value restaurants and close to a flea market selling local souvenirs.
The beach is over crowded with people and lots of shacks. The water is not clean. The only best time was the sunset time when the orange sun in the background. People have littered filth everywhere. But you don’t mind that if you are out there not to enjoy the view but to sit back and enjoy at a shack. The plenty beach shacks have music playing in the back ground and one can laze around or even play beach volleyball or frisky! But for that you’ll have to overlook all the crowd and filth.

This is my favourite beach in Goa where I have spent many a glorious evening watching the sun go down while lazing on a beach bed. This beach never fails to rejuninate me and help me forget my troubles. It has a long stretch which is great for a jog. There are a number of shacks on the beach which provide food, booze and beach beds. I like to go to Lilliput Cafe as they have a number of dogs, two Rottweilers called Teddy and Ludo and two others called Vincy and Sweety. It is so much fun to watch them play on the beach and jump in the waves. A lot of tourists stop by to pat them. They can be seen running behind a ball or trying to catch a frisbee. There are rows of coconut trees all along the beach. After sunset, the beach beds are replaced by tables for candlelight dining. Great place to relax and just do nothing.

It's worth making the nail-biting climb to the top of this lighthouse for the stunning panoramic ocean views.
Aguada Fort is great place to visit during the Goa trip. This location is part of many Indian movies. The lighthouse is good. There are many photogenic points for good clicks and selfies.

Anjuna Market is one of goa’s most popular flea markets, with a whole variety of sellers offering everything imaginable, you get a true sense of India with the smell of spices from the spice stalls as you pass by, each seller trying to encourage you to look at their wares, you will also find watering holes to buy foods& drink, but don’t expect luxury, these are very basic but if you do want a little more up market, wind your way through the market, towards the beach where you will find a really nice bar and restaurant.
The market can be reached by taxi or you can get a water taxi from along the beach, which we did as their was one right by our hotel, so worth asking in advance, the return trip cost around £10 Per person from Calangute Beach.
Warning: watch out for the scammers, they will approach you very fast and grab your ear, which happened to me, my first thought was that I had something in or on my ear and he was just getting it off, he then says don’t move and started to take grim out of your ear, which I could not believe, he then asked me to go to his shop which I refused, this was only to get me out of the crowd, he then tried to get £40 out of me for doing his scam I refused, it turns out that this is a known scam and they have this waxy brown stuff on there person and they use slight of hand very clever.
So if you get approached walk on don’t be dragged in.
That said great place to visit and grab a bargain.

I went to Mae De Deus Church. One of Goa's finest architectural marvels is the Mae De Deus Church in Saligao. It has the typical pointed arch, with buttresses supporting its exteriors, belfry, and spikes all which have come together to create a wonderful piece of Gothic architecture. It is great place to go.

The Viceroy's Arch is often overlooked nowadays, but is a place of rich historical value. It was erected to welcome the Portuguese Viceroys to Goa, when Old Goa was the capital. Located between the Church of ST. Cajetan and the ferry point to Divar, it is worth a look.
The arch has a sculpture of Vasco da Gama on the side facing the river and of St. Catherine on the side towards the town. There is also an inscription by Francisco da Gama, a descendant of Vasco da Gama. One can spend around 10-15 minutes here, no entrance fees.

Museum of Goa or MOG (which translates into “love” in Konkani) is a unique space for the Arts. The current exhibition explores the histories of Goa through contemporary art. MOG is not only a space for Exhibitions, but also organizes workshops, musical evenings, residencies, lectures, talks and art courses.
Not sure why is it called a Museum however it is a private art gallery from the artist - Subodh Kerkar. It has an entrance fee before you can see the gallery. I liked some of his creativity on canvas and sculptures with modern art. Some of the arts inspired by Gandhi made of wooden spikes is interesting. Three floors full of paintings and art work from Mr. Kerkar who himself sits there. Most of the work displayed is available for Sale at a price. If you love art, it is a place I can recommend with some fresh ideas on creativity!
