Candolim is just north of the Mandovi river and is home to Goa's most popular and well known resort and holiday village. As such, it's not a typical backpackers destination. The Candolim beach itself does not have much to offer when compared to its livelier neighbor, Calangute. However, if sunbathing and take the occasional dip is your thing then Candolim will offer you the perfect experience. One of the more interesting sights from Candolim beach is the bulk carrier ""River Princess"" which ran aground 100 metres offshore. While at the Candolim beach do not miss out the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Candolim is aslo a very popular evening destination as it has a number of very good resteraunts and night clubs.

This restaurant may be a little difficult to find but believe me it's well worth the effort. Fabulous food and excellent service. Victor and his son keep the Goan tradition going. Highly recommended.

Despite the bizarre misspelt name - actually Cafe Chocolatti if googling it - this is a real breath of fresh air for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Everything is fresh and tasty. The huge choice of homemade cakes and brownies are surely the best in North Goa and the smoothies and frozen drinks are very refreshing. Open Mon to Sat until about 7pm give it a try. Pure indulgence!

Tuscany Gardens is a small family owned restaurant serving unpretentious tasty Italian food in a beautiful garden setting. Hope to see you here.
Tuscany Gardens is located down the Sinquirim end of Candolim. I’ve walked past this restaurant many times and had never eaten there as I would not really think of going to India to eat Italian food……. but …..due to the good reviews on TA and the enticing evening setting, we gave it a go this year and I must admit, it was one of the best meals I had in Candolim. The food was delicious with generous portions and was reasonably priced. We pre-booked our table – some tables appear to be better located than others. We received excellent, attentive service and I would definitely return to Tuscany Gardens.

Myself and my partner regularly visit the bistro (sunset bistro) when we stay in Candolim.
I always get beef medallions, beautiful pieces of meat separated by mushrooms, topped with crispy onions surrounded in a light mustard. Bowl of chips and salad finish off this piece of art.
My partner regularly gets the fish parcel and steamed fish of the day. It must be good because I don't hear from her for about 10 minutes.
Finish this with a heavenly chocolate brownie and ice cream. I defy anybody to say it's not the best food in the area.
Our favourite eatery in Candolim -
Staff very friendly, always chat to the cook at the end of the bar.
Most book ahead, or you can wait with a drink round the back.

Amazing Amazing Food. Hidden Gem In Candolim - Right On The Beach. By The Lower Fort- End Shack
My husband and I ate dinner here one night to have a change from the expensive eateries at the Taj. The food at Tony's was probably better (lovely chicken tikka masala and chicken sizzler) at a fraction of the prize, we sat directly on the beach and Tony and his staff were very friendly. Would recommend!

Here we are again back in the cold, wet and windy UK thinking that only 24hrs ago I was sat on the beach, gazing out across the Arabian Sea with a large kingfisher,I think you get the picture!
The service, food atmosphere is second to none.
There is absolutely no need to venture from the bottom of beach rd to any other shack.
It’s usually busy which is always a good sign.
So grab yourself a seat and a menu and you will see what I mean for yourself.
Thanks to the whole team there, especially “Mehtu” sorry if it’s spelt wrong.
I highly recommend and five stars from me.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
See you next year,Neil,Tina and Mia.

Really liked this beach shack and it quickly became our favourite. The stretch of beach doesn’t get blighted by the hawkers like other areas and the owner Danesh and his staff do everything they can to make sure your holiday is relaxed and as cared for as they can. The beer is cold and reasonably cheap and the food is good. Wife was really pleased with the massages she received from the female staff, nearly an hours massage for a fiver and a bottle of Pepsi!

Himalaya restaurant and bar is a nice place to get some good food for a very reasonable price. It's not upmarket but has a very pleasant atmosphere. Toilets very clean. It is popular so best reserve a table in the evenings. Even locals will recommend it. We went several times and found all dishes freshly prepared and in particular the Tibetan specialities were very good.
