The whole experience here is to be recommended. Helpful people and information in the office, well prepared access walk through dense forest, exciting though short walk across 3 spans suspended from huge Bangkirai tree trunks to a lookout across a forested valley. We are not very fit, but accomplished this easily. There are other forest paths we could have taken, and did see reasonable cottages to overnight in, but after a snack at the little cafe, we headed off to Samboja.

Beach was easy to accessed, entry ticket was 20,000 per person. Pine trees decorated the beach from the way we walked into the beach to the shore line, made the beach has more shady place under the sun shine. There were other attraction in the beach location, such as banana boat, golf car, and duck boat.

Who knows that Balikpapan has a unique and educating tourist attraction? Take a boat along the wide river and enjoy the greens and sights of Bekantan. You should try this.

I went here from Balikpapan. Kilo 45, about 7km to north from Samboja junction.
Would love to give 5 ratings only if the place is cleaner. Many vandalism on the rocks which is irritating. You need a high ground clearance vehicle to go here, otherwise you will walk about 4-5km from the main road. High ground clearance vehicle, not necessarily 4x4, can go like 2km inside the small road and then you need to stop and park here. The parking area is a local's house yard named Pak Kudori. Hire an Ojek/motorcycle is a must from this point, unless you are riding a motorcycle from your home. 20,000 IDR for one trip to the closest check point. 5000 IDR for the entrance fee. So for entire trip, you will need to pay around 45,000 IDR each person. 5000 IDR for you car park. Be prepared! the hiking route is short but quite challenging for people who doesnt do excercise.

This is a small mall for the needs of the locals. However all things required are available.
If you are accompanying children then it is a must visit to this place. The joy rides are indoor and is suitable for even rainy days and I have not seen in any other mall in Balikpapan.

I would not recommend anyone to take swiming or bath here, the water is already widely contaminated by household waste and marine transport activities.
So, enjoy lunch or dinner then walking at the white sand in the afternoon will be the nice option to enjoy this place.

It is actually connected in the earlier so called Balikpapan super block. Many shops are yet to be opened. The shops that are opened so far are very good. I bought some of my shirts which I haven't found elsewhere here. So many shops and so many varieties. Soon this mall will become a landmark for Balikpapan shopping.
