With a long and rich history, this place is a must when visiting the area: friendly staff and great tasting food on a room facing the beach. If you're looking for the ultimate dishes, go for either the seafood rice (arroz de marisco) - mind you, needs reservation beforehand - or the whelk rice (if available) and top it off with a dessert (personal favorite being the house special).

It's not fancy or modern. You can expect an average restaurant, with a traditional decor and despite the food isn't wonderful, you can taste some good typical dishes from the Portuguese cuisine. I recommend the seafood rice, which like all other fish are fresh because of the proximity of the sea.

We started with some very good and well seasoned clams ("Ameijoas à Bolhão Pato") but it kind of went downhill from there. For the main dish there was a house policy of having to order one portion per person, which would be fair enough if it wasn't for the surreal explanation we got: it turns out that the owner decided (recently?) to set this policy because the portions are enough for two! An they were right: it was really enough for two, and we were forced to waste an unreasonable amount of food.
The main dishes, eels ("Ensopado de Enguias") and fish stew ("Caldeirada"), were a total disappointment, with tasteless fish and the eels completely drowned in tomato sauce. So, it's a place to go if you want to get a lot of food... not if you want good food.

Friends recommended this restaurant, and they were more than right! Delicious meals and friendly staff. Near the beach. What can you ask more for?! Oh and even our vegetarian family member's special wish was taken care of with a nice and fresh vegetarian meal.

Only 2km from the coast and 5km from Monte Real. This restaurant, on the town square, has been run for years by the Farto family. We arrived early, about 7.45pm, the place was empty! By 9pm it was full of locals enjoying the varied great value menu. Having eaten a significant amount of the contents of the North Atlantic over the preceding week we opted for Roast Chicken and chips! Quite a wait but gratis tapas and bread downed with cheap beer and reasonable wine filled the time. The chicken was moist and very tasty. Crisp, fresh home made chips and a bucket of the freshest salad made the perfect meal. Menu varies depending upon season and supply. Prices are a fraction those charged by restaurants offering a sea view. As per most Portuguese restaurants credit cards are not accepted

On a day off, I visited this restaurant for lunch. And I have to say, the food is amazing. The quality and presentation is great. The staff are very polite. The price range is high but very decent for the food. I recommend as a stop for lunch if you are ever driving down the Portuguese silver coast.

Decoração agradável (não é tasca, não é taberna! ), clean, mobiliário moderno. Bom serviço, eficiente. Gostámos do camarão, adorámos as moelas. Das melhores moelas que comi. Boa cerveja.

I dine here at least once a month with family and friends and I must say the freshness of the sea food cannot be beat. Their dish of the day "prato da dia" is often Porco Alentejana (pork w clams) and is always delicious. The owner is gracious and considerate. I remember one time we ordered the house white wine and did not like it. The owner gladly change it for us without any additional charge.
An ocean view, fresh sea food and one of the lowest priced restaurants in Praia de Viera - What more can one ask for? Shimmy on over........

Almoust everything was great.
The staff was very friendly and always asking if everything was ok with us.
The entries were fresh, very well served, cooked perfectly (nothing of those pre-frozen stuff that once in a while the restaurants try to sell you...)
For the main dish i've choosen codfish (short on olive oil but that's just my personnal opinion...). The duck magret was sobert however, the boneless leg was a bit stiffed...(eatable never the less...)
Finally, the best: the tradicional pumpkin desert...What wonderfull desert!!! Ask for two...

This is a típical place to have a beer and to snack at the winter time.
During the summer you can eat here good fresh grilled fish and watch to a full beach.
I prefer the winter. The service is slow and bored because there is nothing to do at the afternoon. The toast not so good like at the hot days but sitting here watching to a empty beach and big waves is perfect.
This place is non touristic.
