In a very attractive space in an old building in Zuidlaren (between Assen and Groningen) this was an excellent meal. We did the menu, 6 courses. The fish courses were exceptional, and the one veal course we had was also perfect, with superb preparation, combinations of flavors, presentation and freshness. Service was friendly and informal. The relationship of price to quality is excellent. A very few constructive comments for improvement: We had an aperitivo and were offered various interesting amuses-bouche but it took an hour for the service of the menu courses to begin to appear, and it appeared to us rightly or wrongly that our table was placed into a cycle with another table, of 8 covers, next to us, which arrived a bit later. The offered wine pairings which 2 of our party of 5 ordered were a weak point: 3 whites and a red (I did half glasses) were disappointing, three of them undistinguished Spanish and South African selections. One Alsatian Reisling was interesting as was a Portuguese Duoro dessert wine which tasted like an aged Marsala. I would advise diners who love good wine to just work with the wine list. A Dutch-only menu will be unhelpful as this restaurant justly attracts more non-local diners. Good luck to them--well done.

Mamma Mia knows how to make their pizza's over delicious. It's nice that you can look into the kitchen where they perform live cooking while making the pizza's. I always choose the Mac - sea fruits with a nice twist. A bottle of Chianti wine with it and you'll be in for a perfect night.

We came to this family-friendly price-fix place after a long drive from Berlin. It's a wonderful restaurant, tucked away off-the-free-way in a small Dutch town, serving primarily local clientele. The hearty Balkan cuisine and the intimate atmosphere was exactly the right thing for our tired and hungry group. Service was top notch. The food was superb. The experience was completely satisfying. I would certainly go back.

We enjoyed dinner at this Hotel restaurant and found it top notch. Service was a bit snooty, but we can handle that. Wiener Schnitzel and a flounder that could not have been fresher were our choices. Wonderful choices, may I add. The portions were huge and the taste out of this world. Truely impressive for a place in the middle of nowhere. Glad we stopped by.
By the way, buffet breakfast was served in the same location and it was excellent as
well.

Really very good ...... they know how to combine an experience together with excellent food. We had a wonderful evening here. Very, very good chef, excellent food and fantastic service. Small, intimate eating space but it really works. Expensive but worth twice the money. I will definitely return here.
Just a great evening but in the middle of nowhere. Taxi back to Groningen was 55 euros. It was worth it! Seriously good chef.
Worthy of a star.

Tucked away in the North of the Netherlands we found this hidden gem. Straight forward cooking with seasonal products. You can choose from 5 starters, 5 main courses and 5 Deserts. Still something for everyone, pork, beef, fish, game and vegetarian. All very delicious.

We had diner here with a large group of colleagues. It was a large buffet of several cuisines. It was very tasty and we enjoyed our diner very much.

We had dinner here recently and it was gorgeous from start to finish! The only pity was we had to dine early and were the only ones in the restaurant until we nearly had to leave.
They had just introduced the new spring menu which was lovely and it was difficult to make a choice.
We were met by a lovely young lady and a man who looked after us very well and advised us on all the items on the menu.
The amosphere in the place is cosy with lots of dark wood and some old, authentic elements. We were told it is the oldest building in town.
Would go here again if ever in the neighbourhood again.
