If you come across "cipolla di Tropea"-flavored gelato, you might worry that you’ve forgotten your Italian… or are losing your mind. Don’t fret. "Cipolla" does mean onion, and yes, that is indeed onion gelato. The local red onions are so popular that they’ve even made it into dessert. Tropea, like so many towns on the Amalfi Coast, has a gorgeous cliffside setting. Beneath those cliffs, you’ll find beautiful, sandy beaches.

We love the traditional food found in some of the lovely restaurants in Tropea, and this one doesn't disappoint. The traditional Calabrese "fileja" pasta with swordfish was phenomenal, as were the other pasta dishes we had. A traditional mixed green salad with rucola took on new meaning with the delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The fish was beautiful, and the tiramisu may just be the best we've ever had.

This restaurant has a romantic setting at a quiet square in the old town of Tropea. Very friendly staff and good service. The pasta vongele e cozze was very good!

Very nice place. We went for a dinner and the food was fresh and very nice. The waiter was very friendly and spoke good english. It was an amazing sunset sea view and really liked the food there. An added extra in the evening, is that it is nice and quiet, unlike the restaurants in the town centre.

Nel cuore del centro storico di Tropea, alle slalle dell'antico sedile di Tropea, aperto da 10 anni.
First of all, I have to admit, among the restaurants we tried in Tropea, Tre Fontane had the best food. Finally, we ate there 3 times. Honestly, after the first night, I did not want to go back. It was because of the staff: there was no smile, no friendly conversation, and the worst thing: the waiter did not even pour water/wine. My wife pushed me to go back again; she thought, they had a bad day. But the other day, the same happened: excellent food but very basic service. They should take lessons in "Alice" (where the food was pretty average but the service was superb). The restaurant is located in a nice sqaure, and it has a nice ambiente. So, if you do not need a friendly service, and your main need is qualitative food in a nice restaurant, I can recommend this place.

This restaurant has a nice garden, quite stylish furnished. They have mainly seafood, amongst other dishes something they call „Italian sashimi“. The dishes are quite sophisticated and on a high level. The service is very good, the wine recommendations excellent. Overall: a bit expensive, but...MoreGrazie per la bella recensione cordiali saluti chef Nico.

A New Trend and Lounge Bar where you can spend your evenings in the tranquility enjoying good music and enjoying new and tasty Appetizers & Cocktails.
Set in an open piazza, near the end of the main road through the old city centre, the bar is a relaxed and welcoming environment. The cocktails are top quality and not too expensive considering the location. They provide a complimentary antipasti which was very delicious. They do offer a small selection of antipasti for purchase. They also play some great music, not too loudly!

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted with an amazing hospitality. We ordered the octopus to start and literally every single piece rocked our entire world. The second course was the sea urchin spaghetti which literally is an orgasm in your mouth. There are many restaurants in Tropea and some of them are excellent, however this one stands out with a Ritz Carlton style of taste and attention to detail in the quality of freshness and excellence that will leave your palate in a food coma.

I can only describe the pizza and not the other food, but it was very mediocre with canned ingredients (is it really that hard to use fresh mushrooms?!). The setting was beautiful and romantic and the servers were nice. This was the last place we ate after spending three days in Tropea and honestly most of the restaurants, even the highest rated on TA, were disappointing.

Went here for dinner. Was excited to try their sandwiches. All the tables were full so we decided to do take away. Went inside to order but was told that they were too busy and aren't accepting our take away order. I guess they don't want the business so we walked away. I've never been to a place and was refused service because they are too busy. We would have gladly waited for our food even if it took longer. Not impressed at all.
