Exterior lighting on the front is done well. The building bodes well for shadow play and it's gothic elements give it a spooky vibe

Enjoy a day in the country. The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is a lifelong home to over 70 donkeys, mules and hinnies that have been abused, neglected or are no longer wanted. We recently relocated the Long Ears Boutique so it is now closer to the parking lot. It is here that you will receive your safety talk before entering the donkeys world. Each year we strive to improve access to the animals and property. Two accessible parking spaces have been relocated to provide easier access to the Boutique and safety talk. In the new improved Boutique you can now use your debit cards to purchase your donkey memorbilia and cold drinks. All proceeds from the Boutique go to the care of the donkeys.Don't forget to visit the new Donkey Gallery where you will find the donkey profiles. If you decide you want to help care for the donkeys, you can fill out a sponsorship form for a minimum of $50/year. You can also give as a gift to someone who has everything. The interactive Learning Centre has lots of information for all ages...everything from books to bones. See how we treat an abscessed hoof. Find out what a slipper hoof is. Learn what food is best for donkeys. Hint: All hay is not created equal. From the Learning Centre pass through the barnyard gate where you can interact with the donkeys who love a good brush and scratch behind the ears.Your are invited to listen to one of three scheduled donkey talks. Learn about the challenges donkeys face in North America. Then make your way down to the century old barn that has been converted into the Treatment Centre and visit the main herd up at the new Donkey House....and don't forget to greet the mules before you make your way to the picnic area overlooking the pond.Finish up your day with a walk along the trails in the wetlands and woodlands.
Before visiting the Donkey Sanctuary I could not have imagined the beautiful location & living conditions these donkeys are lucky enough to inhabit (which they more than deserve!). The sanctuary is well organized and well run. It’s clean and the donkeys are just the sweetest animals. There are an over abundance of volunteers who unfortunately may be the only downfall of the experience. Over two visits I came across more than a couple who were a bit arrogant in their positions. I often felt talked down to.
However the visits were still very enjoyable and it was wonderful to see the donkeys happy, healthy and thriving in their environment, surrounded by people who only want the best for them.

This natural area on the south end of the city seems to fit well into the local culture, even though it is far enough out of the way. While we were there you could see running groups and various people walking pets, even though there are not a lot of houses nearby, thus these locals were coming from all over the city to get here. A nice place, which focuses on local trees to Ontario and to Canada, as well as small Japanese and Rose Gardens.

I'm not much for flea markets but we wanted to go for a drive on a beautiful Sunday and ended up at the Flea Market on Brock Rd. We were pleasantly surprised as there is something for everyone. Probably more interesting for baby boomers as we can remember when they weren't antiques!! The dealers are friendly and eager to sell as well as the wares are clean and interesting to prowl the stalls and maybe find a hidden treasure. Worth a look~~

I am just going to review the theatre since the event we saw wasn't good. The seats are comfortable although there isn't much leg room. The sound is excellent. I don't think there is a poor seat in the place. The staff there are friendly and efficient. The theatre itself doesn't have parking but there is parking across the street in a municipal parking lot. The price for parking was $5.00, not expensive.

The Guelph Civic Museum showcases Guelph's history through permanent and changing exhibits, a fun and interactive families gallery, and special events and activities. Located in the recently renovated Loretto Convent, atop the hill at Norfolk Street and beside the landmark Church of Our Lady, the museum is home to a collection of artifacts that bring Guelph's past to life.

We come here frequently to take in the beauty of downtown and are impressed by how much the city has poured into it's revitalization. Ice skating in the winter is particularly nice. There are sometimes some strange characters though in particular a man with a pigeon who seemed to be living there. Hopefully he finds a home somewhere, for now I guess he is harmless.

McCrae House is the birthplace of John McCrae (1872-1918), doctor, soldier and author of “In Flanders Fields.”
It's great that this house is stored as a historical spot. You'll get a free admission along with your purchase of a ticket to the civic museum. I wish however that the exhibition was extended with some more items. I am sure that civic museum could help to organize a better exhibition. It is literally nothing to see in the McCrae House. I enjoy the garden around this house. It maintained quite well throughout the summer and fall.
