We'd spent a few days looking at the historical bits, Castles, museums, etc. and wanted something a bit lighter. The butterfly farm was just right.
It's not especially big, but you can spend quite a while there, just sitting watching the wildlife. Mostly butterflys of course but also terrapins and birds.
We were there in October, so it was nice and warm on a cold day.
Try the cafe as well. The menu is fairly small but fine for a lunch time snack and good value considering there is a captive audience and not much else around as an alternative.

A family managed company, Bernard-Massard is the main producer of traditional method sparkling wines of Luxembourg and by extension of the Benelux countries. After more than 95 years of existence, our company remains true to the values ofquality and entrepreneurship of our founder Jean-Bernard-Massard. It is with a constant passion that, together with our 85 employees, we elaborate and market our best Cuvees and great luxembourgish still wines. As of today, Bernard-Massard is luxembourg's first privately owned wine Producer with about 4 million bottles leaving yearly our cellars. The reputation of our company reaches far over the borders of our beautiful country. Beside a strong presence in Belgium, our Cuvees are well represented in countries like Finland or Canada (Quebec) as well as in many other markets. Bernard-Massard's loyal customers and the numerous awards won in prestigious international contests undoubtedly testify the quality consistency of our brands.
The tour gave a clear explanation of the production process while a short video provided the history of Caves Bernard Massard. The tastings were generous full glasses without a break between. If you are visiting I would recommend you take a pack of crackers to eat between tastings.

It's a wonderfull walk between the wine ranks. I always enjoy the beautiful view. We've already spend several times here and it's always just as pleasant.

This heated outdoor swimmingpool which is owned by the city of Grevenmacher is a wonderfully located place for a nice sunny day. It offers 3 pools , one small pool for babys and small children, 1 pool with a nice slide with a big pool of max 150cm deep and 1 huge pool for swimmers and adults with a diving tower. There is a snackbar and a nice sun Terrace with sunchairs and a really wide open space (meadow). Opened from mai to october if weather allows, from 10 AM to 7.30 PM, entrance is 5 euros for adults and 2,5 euros for children and students, possibility of a season ticket for 48 euros or 24 euros.
The only negative point I noticed was the unkindness of certain workers, the city of Grevenmacher should teach them how to be more friendly and efficient.

Visited for one of the free open air Concerts. The courtyard was packed. We had cocktails, salads, chips, wines, drinks and coffee. All tasty and nothing to complain about.

Already spend several good times here in Grevenmacher enjoying the view and sitting by the Fountain. Especially nice when it's really hot.

Grevenmacher è un centro cittadino carino con zona pedonale. Il Waschbuer Kundel in realtà non puo' essere considerate una attrazione di rilievo, ma vale la pena fare la passaggiata in centro.

I was staying in Luxembourg City and went to Grevenmacher for the day for wine tasting. I stopped by the Domaines Vinsmoselle - Grevenmacher tasting room (called "wine shop" on the Domaines Vinsmoelle website) for a wine tasting and had a great time. Not only did I get to taste some fantastic wines, but I also learned a lot about the domaines' wines and Luxembourg wines in general. Daniel was a knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging host. He also spoke English, which I greatly appreciated. There are all kinds of wines available to taste and buy. I wish I could have carried more because not only were the wines great, but they were also great values.
It's easy to get to Grevenmacher from Luxembourg City. It's a 45-minute ride on bus 130 for just 2 Euros (one way). The best thing to do is buy a day pass for 4 Euros and you've got the trip there and back covered, as well as any other public transportation for the rest of the day. Grevenmacher is small, so there are many bus stops you can use, but the best one might be "Gare Routière." That stop is close to the Tourist Office too, which I found extremely helpful.
