With more than 50 runs served by 14 lifts, Thredbo is patterned after a European ski village, complete with shopping, nightlife and lodging. One hundred and sixty acres for all skill levels are featured, with Friday Flat for beginners. The longest runs in Australia are here too, including a two-mile run with a 2,200-foot vertical drop.

Extending over 2,664 square miles, this park contains Australia's highest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko.
We love joining friends to do several,of the bushwalking paths in the Snowy Mountains. The air is so fresh there’s so many amazing places to explore. The information centre in Jindabyne has lots of helpful publications and maps to guide visitors about these days walks. A good level of fitness and suitable day pack is needed.

Thredbo arguably the premier mountain resort nationally. Great village and facilities. But expensive, and a pity that in our experience, the lift customer service doesn’t come near Falls/Hotham. Issues with mtb lessons & lift tickets seem to unnecessarily spin out of control leaving a degree of disappointment....

A must do - buy a daytripper ticket from Perisher to travel by oversnow transport across to Charlotte Pass for the day. Great value - includes all lifts, lunch and return transport. Welcoming staff, especially the manager. Tuesday and Friday deals make it quite economical and better value than Thredbo or Perisher. Even if you don't ski or snow shoe, it is worth the trip.

20km (return) walk to get to the historic hut built 1935. Many people camp out & spend the night at the hut. Allow 2-3 hours of walking each way to get to the hut. It's also a favourite among mountain bikers.

*Open for special events & reopens regularly winter 2018 – please see the Entertainment & Dining Guide for upcoming events* The Schuss Bar, located on the upper concourse of the Thredbo Alpine Hotel is so famous it is known to most people who haven't even been to Thredbo! Enjoy a schnapps, Gluhwein or even an old-fashioned beer, pretend to listen to your mate's exaggerated tales from the slopes, hit the dance floor to a live band and watch the Saturday night flare run from the best seat in the house.
Had drinks one night and dinner the next which was quite nice BUT $6.50 for a schooner of New is expensive for a country pub. The food was reasonably priced. My wife enjoyed the salmon and I had chicken parmy which was lovely.
