The Menara Kudus Mosque or Al-Manar Mosque is located in Kudus in the Indonesian province of Central Java. Dating from 1549, it is one of the oldest mosques in Indonesia, built at the time of Islam's spread through Java. The mosque preserves the tomb of Sunan Kudus, one of the nine Islamic saints of Java (the Wali Sanga), and it is a popular pilgrimage point.
Tips :
Avoid visiting this place in weeks before Ramadhan. This place will be cramped by pilgrims, particularly in the morning before Friday pray.
The street is relatively narrow, it is suggested to go this place by motorcycle, or rented car to drop you nearby, then arrange time with the driver to pick you up later.
Apply cautions when buying souvenirs from the seller. Do bargaining. Or find a local to help you do bargaining.

My visit this time is very pleasant, because I went with my friend who is from Kudus, so I can go along to the Makam Sunan Muria using his personal car. The access road is quite uphill, but good enough. At that time a lot of buses are parked in the Wisata Colo for religious tourism or picnic. Visitors can use a motorcycle taxi as I headed to the Makam Sunan Muria from the parking area. However, visitors must hold fast to the motorcycle's seat because they like speeding. In fact, according to my friend, the motorcycle taxi drivers deliberately speeding because it is for the adrenaline tour! Quite entertaining too. Do not forget to ablutions in advance and dress decently here. In addition to the tomb and sprawling hills, I also took time to visit Niagara Monthel.

There is a tomb complex behind Menara Kudus Mosque. It's a tomb complex of Islamic scholars, rulers and princes, and others. The main tomb of the place is tomb of Sunan Kudus. Sunan Kudus was one of the Wali Songo (nine Muslim saints who spread Islam in Java), and that's why this tomb is so popular in Java.
Many people (traditional Muslims) visit this tomb, especially on Friday and weekend. When I visited this tomb, it was on Friday, so it's so crowded outside and inside. I saw many traditional Muslims that so enthusiast to enter the tomb. These traditional Muslims were willing to jostle for praying ( seeking intercession / tawassul) to the tombs, especially the tomb of Sunan Kudus, to make their wishes come true.
Conclusion : It's nice place for religious trip traveler, and people who wants to see Javanese and traditional Muslim culture. It's not recommended for people who don't like crowded.

Patiayam Museum is located in the Holy Way-Pati, Terban Village, District Jekulo, Kudus, Central Java. Potential Site Patiayam are still a handful of people who know, when fossils stored is not inferior to Sangiran in Karanganyar.
In the museum there are about 1,500 fossil Patiayam saved. The fossils were aged between 1 million and 700 thousand years. In the future museum is expected to be educational tours for students and archaeologists to find life in ancient times.
Unfortunately, roads damaged and looks less attention for entrance to the museum is still an obstacle for visitors. However, the Government plans to renovate Holy District and Museum Patiayam entry. Hopefully tersbut plan is not just discourse and quickly realized.

Interesting place to learn more about history and why Kudus moniker is Kota Kretek. It tells about the life and history of Nitisemito, founder of kretek cigarette in Indonesia. Only a glimpse about the story of cigarette industry in Kudus. There was a guide but only speak Indonesian.
The museum hall is not too big, but the outdoor yard is huge, they also have mini theater building. Beside museum, there are other children attraction such as swimming pool, trampoline, train, etc. Entrance fee, Rp 2.000,-
