I have had the mixed pleasure of dining here several times, and every time I am amazed at how slow their service is. It takes a very long time for the waiter to ask you if you want anything to drink while you make up your mind about the food, and it takes even longer for him/her to bring it to you. Once you are lucky enough to order, it again takes a very long time before you see any food. The quality of the food is okay, but not exceptional. All the way through it feels like this place only exists because of the hotel and the two big companies in town. They don't try very hard which is a shame as it wouldn't take much to turn this place into a fantastic café.

Blueberry Bliss, as I've self titled it, is one of my favourite discoveries at Kagehuset, (Danish for The Cake House).
Inspired by the limited edition topping created for a delicious staple: a delicate, blueberry muffin. And in celebration of the International Street Art Festival in Brande. My Blueberry Bliss birthday cake comprised two soft layers of fresh blueberry sponge cake, sandwiched together with a fruity, light blueberry moose. The whole cake smothered with more blueberry moose, sweet strawberries and juicy blueberries. Divine.
Kagehuset's reasonably priced made to order fresh sandwiches, Danish pastries, local honey and jams as well as numerous breads and rolls - including my favourite - the wheat free potato bread, all come highly recommended.

This restaurant serves decent Chinese food which will fill you up. Don't expect to find anything out of the ordinary, but if you are looking for a good old fashioned Chinese meal (European style), this is the place to go. The members of staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. The décor is a bit worn, but the place is clean and inviting.

Food was good. Prices a little too high for a small town, but especially we didn't like how we were charged twice for the nachos. The price in the menu was not for the plate, but for each person on the table. So weird...

When you turn away from the main road to follow the signs for Aabaekken Restaurant, you go about 2 km and in the middle of the forest, far away from everything, is the restaurant seated.
When you come in and get your table, before you seat, you are invited to the seller. There something good awaits you! I won't tell you what it is, you have to come and taste it your self :-)
After your meal you can enjoy your coffee in the living room, or you can sit in the bar.
Remember to make Reservations as The Aalbaekken Restaurant is a small place.
My husband and I have been here several times, with and without children, and we are coming back!
ENJOYABLE :-D

This is a nice little restaurant that specializes in tasty food at reasonable prices and ditto art. The special of the day is only 79 DKK, and it is usually a simple but filling dish such as Danish meat balls or Italian pasta. The café offers both vegetarian and meat dishes. You can also buy pesto, honey, hummus and many other specialties to take home.
The café can house medium sized parties on their premises and also runs a diner transportable business. Ideal for family or business parties.
There is parking right outside the door, and the high street is only a few yards away.
