Almost everyone will need to access this park via Shaoguan. In Shaoguan, go to the bus station next to East railway station. From the river, the bus that goes to DanXiaShan is on the right side. Busses leave about every 10 minutes and tickets are purchased on the bus for 16rmb. The trip is just over an hour to the park. Sit on the left side of the bus for views and to keep the rising sun out of your eyes. The bus drops you just steps from the ticket counter. You can hire a tour guide at the ticket counter too, not sure of their English proficiency.... It was posted entry used to be 200rmb per person and now it is 150. You can also buy a combo ticket to do the boat ride for 220rmb. Your ticket gets you access to the park for 2 days. Keep your ticket handy as it must be re-checked at the entrance to the big areas. You will scan your index finger and this will let you back in for the second day. Cable car ride gets you a great ride. It is 40rmb to the top, 65 for two-way, but if you want to see more sights, just get the one-way and hike down the mountain to see viewpoints, temples, and ancient tombs, etc. SKIP Pearl Pavillion. It is a hard, steep ascent to a structure that has no views due to overgrown vegetation. I saw one foreign tourist during my trip, but the park is mapped, explained, and has all street signs in English. Not recommended for young kids. It's too much walking, and some of the barriers would not stop a wandering toddler from falling down the mountain. Last bus back to Shauguan is at 7, but don't wait too long as many will already be full when they arrive to the park. I was on the 7:40am bus to DanXiaShan, and walked about 90% of the park by 4pm. I traveled solo and at a good pace. Also, only a couple of the service stands were open, so carry your water. You don't need to bring a buffet, but some light snacks would help between stands.

Way back over 20 years ago, we took a taxi to see an exhibition on Chinese sex culture in Shanghai. It was a hard fine and the rewards was not satisfactory. I recall that the exhibition displayed everything and mainly highlights how ancient people indulges in erotica. Now the tour bus took us directly to the entrance of another sex museum in Shaoguan. The ticket office was closed but there are tickets sold at a nearby table - 35 RMB. But not again!
After lunch, the tour guide led us to the Mountains where he said a big male sex organ is displayed. As we took the cable car up to the viewing gallery, we expected to see something like the grandfather's rock of Koh Samui! The day was cloudy and darken by drops of rain. So the sight of the mountain rocks said to be very brownish and beautiful was not clear especially when they are covered by the mist.
Our next stop was the highlight of the trip - the male sex organ rock. As we walked the road leading to the mountain, we saw some pomelo trees which fruited trumpet-like fruits! A farmer was selling some farm produce.. Then there it was, the big P...beside a mountain. This one looks so real that we thought it was carved out from the rock by an artist. And the model who exhibits his 'thing' must be a man in great demand! Wow! So big, a woman exclaim! And a nice one too!, hehehe!
Besides the sex organ rock, we could not see any other interesting sceneries. There is a brown water river which meanders across the Mountains. Many queued to take the ride - maybe next time!

It's well worth the walk and experience the scenes along the way. The peak resting place provides a Panorama view which is magnificent. Done be intimated by the almost vertical stairs closer to the final 15 mins and keep going, you'll find the effort well worth.
