We walked 4 blocks southwest from our Hotel Royal Plaza to visit this 3 towered church built in 1937. The red brick and white stucco building sits high over the large Parque San Francisco, which was oddly quiet during the day.
Returning at night, we found the park active with children's rides and the church open for services. The 5 doors, colored rose window, and lighted tall clock tower brightened the unlit facade. We entered the large central arch way to find a shiny white interior with an arched wooden ceiling all accented with olive trim. The high columned nave had an addition columned aisle on each side giving nearly as much width as depth to the interior. The transept columns and the active electric fans on each capital, added to the modern altar of this beautiful church full of worshipers.

Our store offers handmade items create by indigenous people from the area, artisan women and carpenters. Besides you can find organic food, teas, cacao and dry fruits/nuts. The main idea of our shop is to teach the people to support any kind of art and to live life in the healthiest way as possible. We accept any kind of card (debit/credit) although there is an ATM just in front the place.
This place has been running in Florencia for many years now and I would totally recommend it for anyone who wants to support the development of local economy. You can find hand-made products from indigenous groups, furniture made in "guadua" or bamboo by local carpenters as well as edible products such as "quinoa", "maca" powder, "chia" seeds, almond milk, among others.
Don't hesitate to follow them in their facebook page: TIENDA ARTESANAL SALUD&BELLEZA, where you can get direct access to their new products, sales and even raffles.

We are staying on the east side's Hotel Royal Plaza with a 2nd floor view over part of this large square. Walking through each day, we notice all the vendors; sugarcane juice, ice cream, coffee, jewelry, sunglasses, etc. While under the shade of the huge mango tree, I noticed the shoeshine men and indulged($ .75). Its a perfect place to people watch, especially the older crowd carrying on lengthy conversations.

Following Google, we walked 2 blocks south from our Hotel Royal Plaza. In the large white public building with no directory, we finally went to the ground floor library for directions. Up the stairs and in the back, we found the doorway with a hanging banner "Museo Caqueta". Free to enter its one large room, divided into sections. One part is Indigenous objects; drum, stone tools, stone grinders, stone figures, pottery and basketry. In another was a dugout, rubber extracting machine, and a large assortment of contributed items from families of rubber tappers, settlers, and religious institutions.
It's a large display of items with a number of groupings marked in Spanish. For us it was good to see but not comparable to the other department museums(all with small admissions) in Colombia.
