Hospitality level: horrible!
Staff yelled at us because we asked if we can have lunch on the Terrace outside! It has rained a few hours before (so it was not raining anymore) and they didn't want to wipe the chairs and tables so they were serving only inside because they had only 3 servers in the middle of the season!
We have been visiting this restaurant for years and the service only got worse! Longer waiting time (1 hour at best)
Food: not bad but not the best either.

The place to be when we have succeeded in riding our bikes up to Paltinis, starting from Sibiu. The place to be when we had barely slept 4 hours that night and we were stubborn enough to say we can make it to the peak. We were starving and had no energy left whatsoever. We tried to eat nearby the gondola station but no luck. Huge was our surprise when we were told nobody served food in the area.
So, we decided to go down a bit where we had seen some villas earlier. There must have been food somewhere. We took right, towards the Paltinis hermitage, and then, on the left, there it was, our place to be: Vila Romana.
The lady who served us guessed quickly how hungry we were and she took care of it all. The order, the appetizer and then the main course. One right after another. And they were delicious. Then, we took only one dessert because we were already stuffed.
The prices were not that high, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the service was perfect, the food, mmm, delicious. We left happy and ready for the big descent that was about to follow.
So, be it or not a cliché, that was our place to be at that very moment..

Usually, when you go in any restaurant, you are there because you are hungry.
Don't get fooled people: they have huge portion ( and I'm over 100 kg ).
You should order step by step, take it easy.
Portion are huge, delicious and the price..priceless to say anything.
Just for your info: three portion around 25EUR, with desert to-go because was way too much.

It's too glitsy for a mountain resort: all kind of plastic flowers on all tables and matchy-matchy sparkling ceiling lights. Prominent smell of scented smoke and loud music on an empty restaurant on Saturday at 11 am. However, friendly staff, good food and nice location. Although, a little bit pricey.

Situated on the ground level of the hotel, the restaurant has all the ingredients to be a hot spot of the area: good building, interesting menu, proficient waiters.
However it is in dire need for better organization:
In the evening they were pretty crowded, so the waiters passed over my head with the menu charts 2 times, while complaining that they do not have the time to bring the menus. The food was good, the lemonade-excellent. We considered ourselves lucky, as a couple that came 5 minutes after us was flatly refused service.
Next day, at lunch, they were not crowded, so the service was very good. Unfortunately, half of my medium steak was simply raw!!
And on both occasions the specialties were missing from the menu!
