Nie'er Park is a great place to relax and have a walk around. Throughout the day there are people dancing, practising instruments and having a chat. There isn't a lot to see except for the small lake and the statue of Nie'er.

There is a red tower on the mountain on the very end of Yuxi city. Red is Hong, and tower is ta, in Chinese. So the mountain is called the Hong ta shan. I heard a story that the tower in two ends of the city was to tame a big dragon by bionding it's head and tail. At that ancient time of Ming dynasty, the tower was white in color. The color changed later but the stories remain. There are statues of God on the top of the tower, in the side that faces the city.
A nice place to walk hand in hand with dear ones and go higher with small steps. On the base of the tower there is a museum of the Hong Ta cigarette group. The museum shows a brief history of the main industry that is very crucial to modern Yuxi.
Hope to return there soon and spend more time roaming around the mountain and hearing the rain water trickle from the higher leaf to the lower one.
