Last month while i was staying in Jiuquan China I was privileged to be able to visit
the Silk Route Museum with a Chinese host I was staying with,
The Museum is really excellent. There is an entry fee of about 60-70 CNY for an adult ,yet
the money is well worth it ,as the fee included a guided tour of the Museum by one of it's
excellent staff. Some of the exhibits are really old and imaculately presented. The factual information presented alongside some of the exhibits is very interesting and highly
informative.Nearly all the exhibits have a connection with ancient China and the Silk Road
in some way, shape,or form.I was most impressed with the layout of the Museum, and the
excellent exhibits. The art work in some of the exhibits is fantastic. I highly recommend this
Museum to anyone visiting Jiuquan. The only drawback is no photography is permitted in the
Museum yet it is still well worth a visit Andrew

There is not much to a visit to the Wei-Jin Tombs but what there is is interesting. There were very few people there when we visited, which was good as the area inside the tombs is small. One of the more worthwhile parts of the standard Jiayuguan tour that takes in the fort, wall, and beacon platform.

DaTang MeiShi Jie is not a very place but have a number of restaurants. According to the locals, this place is meant for tourists. There are a few restaurants that are halal or muslim friendly. We tried the mutton BBQ and is delicious albeit salty. For lunch, we also went to a restaurant that sells various kind of healthy porridges and I would say fantastic after having oily meals for the past few days!
