A green hill stands few steps NE of the medieval part of Črnomelj. Upper part was rearranged to a monument of fallen victims of Second World War. Architecture is work of Marko Župančič. Special part of monument is stone figures, work of Jakob Savinšek. They are like Picasso´s Guernica in stone. Place is worth a visit if you are near Črnomelj.

A huge house for Vinica has several plaques on the main façade. Entrance is from southern side. You have three different rooms dedicated to famous poet Oton Župančič. You can see a short video or look at the posters, photos, original handwriting, books and other objects. First floor is also interesting with presentation of important scientists and artist from Bela Krajina. There is also a room with national costumes of the area. Behind the museum is children’s playground. Nice for families with smaller children.

At Vinska Klet Metlika you can not only find amazing wine (which is truly special as the best grapes are hand-picked from the local vineyards), but the staff is also super nice and friendly and they are ready to show you the whole production process, from the pressing techniques to the huge barrels full of aromatic wine. A truly great experience!
