6th Generation family vintners in the fertile soils of the Breede River Valley. Our wines capture the essence of this magical terroir.
Be ware - this is a biased review. My paternal family has farmed here for six generations. The seventh generation - closely connected to the farm - was christened two weeks ago at Merwida. This was a splendid occasion and there was ample opportunity to sample all the wines on offer at the cellar.
I am a red wine drinker and the Barbera is my favourite although the Cabernet Sauvignon is as excellent. The estate also make a pinotage, but as I am not partial to the taste I cannot comment. The sparkling wine is a also winner. I'll leave the sweet wines and the white wines to those who have a sweet tooth and others who prefer white wines.
However, my namesake young Lieza is now the assistant winemaker at the cellar and their Sauvignon Blanc has been in the top ten in South Africa since 2015.
For Christina Petronella's christening we toasted to the speeches with a specially labelled Chenin Blanc, which for a non-white wine drinker, was delicious.
Do visit!

Mountain Brewing Co. (MBCO) is the first microbrewery in Worcester and offer a variety of craft beer including delicious food at our pub. The brewery is located at Klipbokkop Mountain Reserve in the Cape Floristic Region. Using their pure sandstone water, the craft beer is of the highest standard. Accommodation is also available.
Great beer, great food, unrivalled hospitality and an amazing view. What more do you need to know about MBCo ? Had a private tasting with brewer PG amidst his crafting some more fabulous ales and lagers, with his passion and knowledge crumbling away any resistance...MoreThank you for your very positive review. Hope you visit us again soon!

Always a pleasure to drop by Fairy Glen renowned for their broad knowledge of the various animals roaming between the Mountains.. Great for an animal experience all year around. Whether it be a day or overnight visit a great time will be had by the whole family. There is an age restriction for kids doing the safari so wise to give a call first..........

Wow, what a wonderful place!! Definitely more a case of ‘wine drinking’ rather than ‘wine tasting’, and the cheese and meat platters were just outstanding. Stettyn Cellar is in a beautiful location, and the whole experience was just fabulous. The wines are wonderful, and so reasonably priced. If you’re in the vicinity of Villiersdorp, you simply must go!

Stopped here on our way back from Montagu. The pictures are spot on.
The range of gift items here is amazing & the bags for sale are very well priced with great designs & options.
We bought local peaches which have been devoured, the aroma & taste just delicious. Even the car smelt lovely Great range of homemade products to choose from & I purchased mango leather roll (yummy) & biscuits - excellent quality.
Bathroom facilities were spotless. Friendly service always a big plus.

Took my father-in-law and family on the express for his 70th birthday. All 8 of us loved the experience. Even with two kids under 5 they totally enjoyed the 5 hour experience. It was informative, beautiful and entertaining. Highly highly recommended.

The Golden Valley Casino is a friendly, intimate casino situated in Worcester in the picturesque Breede River Valley. The casino has taken over an old Cape Dutch style home and, in true Golden Valley style, the place has turned to gold. Whether you’re enjoying yourself in the casino, relaxing by the pool, taking in a live show or enjoying a delicious meal, Golden Valley Casino will continue to surprise you.Just an hour’s drive from Cape Town, it’s the perfect getaway.Friendly staff and great service will make your visit one to remember and make you come back for more.
We stayed one night at the casino and had a meal at the Kuipers Restaurant. It is the worst service ever experienced in a restaurant. The restaurant was not even busy. It was a Wednesday evening. It was the vening of the fish special. When food arrived it was cold. The waiter we had was totally disorganised. We also ordered a sald that never arrived. Will never eat again at that restaurant. Stay away. Rather go across the road to the shopping complex with many good restaurants to choose from.

It is quite a Mission to get to Klipbokkop, and the facilities should make for a perfect corporate get-away. The location in the Mountains in a private reserve is incredible! They also offer 4x4 excursions.
It is however unfortunate that the decor and rooms are of a 1* standard, the rooms are as basic as can be. The public areas are also hideous.
In the bedroom there is not even a telephone, or TV, the wash basin is IN the bedroom etc etc. There also also no recliners at the (lovely) pool.
Also not even an espresso machine in sight - is a Nespresso machine that expensive?? (bring your own!). And they even charged me R30 for a horrible attempt at a!home-made espresso. They even charge for a bucket of ice - R12! - COME ON!
One gets the sense that the on-site beer brewery is the focus at Klipbokkop. Or they ran out of funds to complete what could have been a perfect corporate get-away.
BTW - the manager Sonja confirmed that they take group bookings, minimum of 5 rooms.
Pity that one has to avoid this place.

The outside farm displayed is a very good idea and could be interesting. We visited this place for the live-museum experience (Thursday morning at about 10:00). Unfortunately, this aspect of the museum was disappointing. The outside farm area is not well kept or maintained and there were no live farm activities. However, the static displays inside the exhibition hall was very comprehensive, interesting and well laid out.
