We could not recommend this tour highly enough. Our guides Angie and Fred took us to four different wine producers for tastings all of which were in beautiful surroundings with wine experts to advise us. But more than this the whole day was filled with invaluable information about the region and South Africa in general. We also went to the town of Stellenbosch and had some other additional stop overs which were fabulous. We really felt that Angie and Fred treated us as friends rather then ‘clients’ and we travelled round in luxury in their spacious car. We got so much more out of going round the winelands with experts - going on our own would not have compared.

Neighbourgoods Market

Reviewed By Christiaan_Slabbert - Leipzig, Germany

I was very much looking forward to the Neighbour Goods Market – but its popularity sank the entire experience for me. Ultimately, the problem is perhaps not the (pricey) products on offer, but the venue, which I think cannot cater for such an immense crowd. It leads to problems on various fronts: Parking is a nightmare; the market is cramped and claustrophobic; standing in long queues to get food and drink is almost certain, and finding a seat is near impossible. In sum: It's uncomfortable from start to finish. I won't return.

Woodstock Brewery

We stayed at an Air bnb close by.
This place has great home brewed beer in house and has great food.
The owner os also really nice.
If you are staying in the Wood Stock area give this place a try! And if not..... Uber's are super cheap in Cape Town. $2 USD for a regular or get an Uber Black for $5 USD.
We got a nice Mercedes for cheap.
Just a FYI. Even on a budget you can ride in style.

Imiso

This small gallery displays the ceramic creations of local success story Andile Dyalvane, who started life in a small village tending livestock and now has award winning pottery on display from New York to Taiwan. His pieces are striking and have stories about them tied to his perspective on African life and culture, which the assistants are glad to share even if you are not a collector.

We arrived after a long 11hour flight in uncomfortable seats from Europe in Cape Town. In our Hotel in Woodstock we found the flyers of Yokai Studio with the tempting promise: „You want to enjoy your holiday but just cannot get rid of all the things bothering you back home? You feel as if you have travelled in your suitcase and not in the airplane cabin? Visit the beautiful YOKAI Studio for a pampering massage based on ayurvedic and thaimassage. It will totally relax your mind and body. So you can finally arrive and enjoy your stay!“
We gave it a try and it worked: Kai is a magician with his hands and classes. After two hours of Yoga and Massage we were refreshed, relaxed and at ease, ready for the City. Yokai studio has a lovely warm atmosphere, open log fires during Yoga lessons (unique!) and a friendliness which is unprecedented. This phantastic experiece made us come back right before our flight home to receive another massage. We slept on the plane like babies. Thank you so much, Kai. I highly recommend this place to all travelers and I wish we would live nearby to experience Yokai more often.

Bright Creative Space

Reviewed By CLB0101 - Johannesburg, South Africa

These classes are perfect for beginners looking for a way to learn about art and for professionals looking to overcome a creative block.
Bright Creative Space is an art studio that caters to every creative need. The comfortable atmosphere and accommodating facilitators make it easy to get straight into creating your very own master piece no matter what your prior painting experience may be. There are lessons running everyday in the morning (10am - 1pm), afternoon (2pm - 5pm) and evening (booking essential). Saturday 9:30 - 12:30 and Sundays are closed.
There is a functional kitchen and bar should you wish to use the space for a creative event. I recommend the space for personal creative exploration, office team-building creative sessions and Saturday morning painting parties, no matter what your age. The space is also available to rent should you want your own studio corner where you are free to come and go as you please.
Furthermore, the studio is conveniently located across the road form the Old Biscuit Mill and just down the road from the Deckle Edge art shop. Most of Cape Town's best art galleries are located in Woodstock too. There no excuse not to make a full day of celebrating your creative side.

Kelly John Gough

Bold, rich oils on a raw backdrop of wood panel; elegant, classical figures with a provocative, erotic edge - Capetonian Kelly John Gough's artwork embodies a breathtaking joining of juxtapositions. Inspired by the human form, Kelly paints striking nudes with a composition enriched by chiaroscuro, exciting areas of negative space and the natural grain of his signature wooden panel canvas.

Reviewed By 316natalie - Cape Town, South Africa

I recently visited Kelly John Gough in the very funky Woodstock exchange in Cape Town.
I was mesmerized by the artist work, large and small panels of wood with the most incredible images - nudes - capturing the beautiful human form and eyes that follow you around the room.
I highly recommend a visit to his Gallery.
