Wenzhou (pronounced [wə́n.ʈʂóu] ( listen); Wenzhounese: [ʔy tɕiɤu], Chinese: 温州) is a prefecture-level city in southeastern Zhejiang province in the People's Republic of China. Wenzhou is located at the extreme south east of Zhejiang Province with its borders connecting to Lishui on the west, Taizhou on the north, and Fujian to the south. It is surrounded by mountains, the East China Sea, and 436 islands, while its lowlands are almost entirely along its East China Sea coast, which is nearly 355 kilometres (221 miles) long. Most of Wenzhou's area is mountainous as almost 76 percent of its 11,784-square-kilometre (4,550 sq mi) surface area is classified as mountains and hills. It is said that Wenzhou has 7/10 mountains, 1/10 water, and 2/10 farmland.

As I'm not an expert in Chinese culture, I couldn't enjoy totally the experience, but I recognice good things and this is one.
Beautiful island to walk and be one with nature and peace.
When I walked there, some locals were playing traditional Chinese music in a small place, and they welcomed us to listen.
Very peaceful place.

If you are in or near Wenzhou, China then this Wenzhou Amusement park would be worth a trip if you have children under 12. Older children might get bored due to the lack of roller coasters and other large thrill rides unless they would be entertained with the adventure sports. If you know the amusement parks in California, I would say it is a mix of "Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park" and "California's Great America" without the large roller coasters and water park.
1. It costs 100 RMB (~$16.50 US) for full admission.
2. It costs 50 RMB (~$8.25 US) for children from 1.1m (~43 inches) to 1.4m (~55 inches) or for seniors.
3. It is opened from 0830 to 1700 every day during the summer.
4. There are about 65 attractions to visit within the following 5 sections:
4.1. Adventure valley,
4.2. Western Zone,
4.3. Cartoon Area,
4.4. Children's Joy,
4.5. and European.zone.
4.6. For extra fun there are also adventure sports like Bungee jumping, Jurassic Park sliding, Rock climbing, Boat riding, Hand gliding on a zip line, and sled riding on a large metal slide.
5. The service staff at every ride were quite friendly.
6. Not sure if it was luck but there was hardly any wait in line for the rides even on a Saturday.
Overall I would say this is a wonderful Amusement park for family to entertain themselves and have a relaxing time. It was greatly worth the price we paid !

Yaoxi is a very nice area with fresh air, nice trails, and clean water. There is an excellent waterfall (20 minute hike from start) with a pagoda nearby good for camping under. The waterfall's pool is good for swimming and has parts that are quite deep for diving. There are also many trails to get some exercise and enjoy the views. It's part of the DaLouShan trail network, so you can continue your hike if you want to the top of DaLou Mountain. Take the No. 6 bus to the end, followed by a 5rmb/pp minibus ride to the trailhead if you want to get there for cheap. Otherwise, taxi shouldn't cost more than 80 rmb from the city. There are also many restaurants at the beginning of the trail if you want to grab a bite to eat before heading up. Will definitely be going here again!

Used to live next to Jiushan Park. It's a nice place to chill for a couple hours. There are some swimming clubs that use the pond (although I wouldn't recommend swimming here, the water is quite dirty). Definitely climb the pagoda, located at the top of the hill. There is no fee and it provides some excellent views of the city on a clear day. Also, the grass area in the center usually has many dogs playing. Finally, nearly every night there will be many seniors doing synchronized dancing which is fun to watch. I rate Jiushan as average because it is rather small, but if you are in the area, it's a good place to check out.

There is a lot of walking involved and lots of steps. Be prepared to carry the stroller up and down stairs because it is not stroller or wheel chair friendly. Food inside the park is relatively expensive and nothing westerners would consider to be satisfying.
I had no idea what to expect after Reading previous comments about this zoo. This zoo is smaller than the NYC Zoo or the San Diego Zoo but then so is the city. Situated on the side of the mountain, each viewing area is separated by a network of stairs.
Animals currently on view: Elephants, lions, tigers, leopards, pandas, hippos, brown bears, monkeys as well as the exotic birds, snakes and reptiles exhibits. The panda exhibit is worth the exercise. They have it well designed so that visitors can watch the pandas feed and the brown bears are awaiting the handouts from the visitors. (visitors can purchase food for the bears for 2 RMB per bag)
The animals seem to be well cared for.
Best way to get to the zoo is by public transportation. Bus # 44 will go right to the front gate. If you use the taxis, they will charge you a surcharge because they feel that they will not be able to find customers on the way back to the city. Total cost on the bus 2 RMB. Be warned, the bus only comes twice a hour.

This used to be the primary location for high end stores however the higher end stores have now moved to a couple of kms south. Now is a collection of chain stores and mom/pop stores that cater to middle / upper income class. It is a fun place to visit and spend a few hours however it will not satisfy serious shoppers.
Weekends have that very busy bustle feel.
Not necessarily a place you would want to visit again and again.

I often go to Jingshan for the outdoor swimming pool located about 1/2 way up the mountain. Many people, along myself, enjoy biking the looped road up and around Jingshan. Near the top, you can also find the entrance for the Wenzhou Zoo and a temple. Overall, this is a nice place to go for half a day. It's also not far from Jiushan Park, which has a pagoda that is free to climb.

You need a vehicle or a driver.
From Wenzhou City to Dongtou is approximately 90 min bus ride. Cost is 23 RMB from 新城站XinChengZhan (New City Bus Terminal). When you arrive in Dongtou terminal, ironically also called XinChengZhan (New City Bus Terminal) you then need to get on another bus. This will cost you 7 RMB + Beach Entrance Fee of 30 RMB.
Be fair warned, the bus only goes to and from the beach in the morning and night. There is NO SERVICE between 1PM to 5PM. You have to then take a taxi which costs double.
After arriving at the beach entrance, you need to walk down a series of steps. Easily 100 plus steps down before you get to the beach area. However there is a golf cart people mover which charges 5 RMB per person to go up and down the mountain side. Suggestion is to use the cart going back up the mountain.
Beach itself is clean - lots of cleaners walking around picking up litter. Brown sand which dirties up the water. Water was NOT blue but closer to a brownish color. This is due to sediment not pollution.
Beach is actually an inlet, no bigger than a football field wide. Water is not that deep and you are not allowed to go too far out. There is a net that prohibits you from going too far out. Water is broken up into five areas, swimming, wading, small personal water craft etc. Lifeguards patrol the central area.
If you want a seat on a patio chair on the beach it will cost you 50 RMB for two hours.
Any food is very expensive from a Chinese perspective but from a western perspective, it is expensive but tolerable. There is very little choice. A seafood restaurant outside, BBQ down on the sand level, coffee shop on the of the landing.
If you want to see other parts of the island, you need to have your own vehicle OR be part of a travel tour.
In summary, it was not worth the effort to go. There are better Beaches and better tourist experience for the money.

A few friends and I biked here from Wenzhou (return trip is 120km) and really enjoyed it. The views are great and it's not too crowded. We stayed at a guest house in a small village near the end of the scenic area in the Mountains. There are many of these types of places, where you can get a home cooked meal and a room for cheap. Next time I visit Zeya, I plan to bike the other side of the looped road and do the white water rafting.
