Les bords de l'Allier

We ran on both sides of the Allier between the 2 Bridges, clocked 5km and were very impressed with all the sports installations. Lovely large flat walking areas, some crushed stone, some wooden surfaces. Large enough to accommodate walkers and bikers and runners and kids. Highly recommend it.

Chateau de Busset

Once again. I have had some friends come and stay and we took the tour through the castle with the owner who is well versed at explaining the full history of the castle. Some amazing rooms in this massive castle and I will continue to take friends there each time they come to visit.

Une très belle et très ancienne prison parfaitement bien conservée. Lors de la visite, il est intéressant de la prolonger en visitant les souterrain de Cusset au temps de la vieille ville fortifiée...

Stade Aquatique Vichy Val d'Allier

Reviewed By Susan A - London, United Kingdom

This is a fantastic stadium designed by a renowned architect which offers several pools - an outdoor unheated Olympic sized pool, plus an indoor pool and a warmer pool with a jacuzzi area and several stainless steel 'beds' under the water with massage jets. Outside there is a paved Terrace and a grassed area with sunbeds. There's a restaurant which can be accessed poolside. It's located on a hill overlooking the horse racing track opposite, and there are several pairs of large doors which are opened up in warmer weather.
I went to a series of aquagym classes in the summer which were great fun.
Several things prevent me from giving this an excellent rating - all of the pools are never opened at the same time to the general public. If the outdoor pool is open then the indoor pool is only used for lessons or not at all.
The corridors that lead from the changing area to the pools are on a slope - rather a poor design as obviously the tiled floors become wet and slippery.
Lastly, please please repair the locks on the lockers in the changing area. A great number are out of order and it doesn't appear that any maintenance has been done to them since the facility opened. It gives an impression of neglect, and at busy times you have to hunt around to find somewhere to put your clothes.

Both interesting and uplifting, as with many churches the beauty is on the inside, the Windows ars amazing, the decoration in general is superb, the ceiling gives you neck ache just looking at it in wonder. A beautiful place to spend time in quiet contemplation in the midst of a busy days sight seeing. The history is also interesting(if you are in to history)

Reviewed By John Wm S - Verneuil-en-Bourbonnais, France

L'Opera de Vichy is the cultural hub of Vichy, where one is presented with an array of very good musical Performances. I suggest that you refrain from selecting a box if your party is more than three, since the boxes are small and do not comfortably accommodate more adults even though they have four chairs. Its setting takes one back to an early time, affording one with its cultural charms. Its grandeur, however, has been somewhat diminished over the passage of time, leaving it in a somewhat more causal ambiance than it once was. But this is unimportant and easily eclipsed by the statue of its Performances. By all means, do not neglect to take in its splendid offerings when your find yourself in Vichy.
