Local village pub serving good food and beers. Open log fires in the winter and dogs are welcome.
We were recommended to visit this pub by our B&B. Good selection of food, including "1970 favourites", which were delicious, very generous sized portions; do not go there if you are on a diet!
Staff very friendly. It was very busy for a Tuesday evening, which goes to prove they are doing something right.

Head Chef, Dean Toon, has put our Restaurant firmly on the culinary map, offering guests his unique style of farmhouse dining, using local ingredients to showcase some old fashioned classics. Matthews onsite smokery and extensive kitchen garden has become central to the menus developed for the restaurant. There is a olde worlde bar and a large lounge area for pre and post dinner drinks. There is no strict dress code.
Came here for a large family wedding. Its a beautiful hotel, with nice grounds. I didn't stay overnight, so can only comment on the setting and food etc.
Waitresses and staff in general were extremely friendly and helpful. Some of the bar staff required a little more training. However, to their defense it was very busy so they were probably thrown into the deep end. Drinks are also a little pricey to say the least- as you would expect at this type of hotel.
Canapes and the food were absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection and a lovely choice. The marquee just outside the main entrance where the wedding reception was held was absolutely stunning, warm and well thought out. A beautiful addition to the venue.
My only criticism would be having only 1 toilet for gents and 1 for ladies.

We serve classic pub food lunchtimes Mon - Sun 12-3 and evening meals Mon - Sat 6pm -9pm.
This was our first time here, with friends who had booked it and was also their first time. We were here on a Monday so when we arrived it was pretty quiet.
We were shown into one of the rooms set up with tables, and proceeded to sit down. We ordered our food of prawn cocktail, garlic stuffed mushroom and mains of steak, sausage and mash, fish and chips. whilst we waited for our food I noticed the room started to fill up with a group of people and their musical instruments, and duly started to sing and play. As much as I appreciated this ,it was very loud and my friends and I could not hear ourselves talk and in the quieter songs felt we had to whisper .
The barman did not tell us on arrival that the room they had seated us in was also host to the local musicians who obviously get together to do this. whilst I do like my music this should have been pointed out to us and we could have sat in the other room -been able to chat freely with the music in the background. it was too late to move as we had already started our meals. We did however, retire to the other room after we had finished.
The food itself was good and at reasonable prices, and I wouldn't rule out coming here again.

Walking round the town we spotted the restaurant tucked away - it's not obvious. When we eventually decided to eat out we called and managed to squeeze in a booking.
Food and service is excellent. Atmosphere is very cosy, feels genuine and the food is too. Plenty to choose from and a specials menu as long as your arm.
Everyone in our group loved what we had to eat.
I love little independent Italians and this is my new favourite.

I️ just had dinner here, a short 5 minute (maybe less!) walk from the Premier Inn where I️ stayed.
The restaurant for dining in is located to the rear of the building while the takeaway counter is at the front facing the street.
The dining room is nice and relatively quiet for a Monday night. One member of staff was a little difficult to understand but the others had good English making ordering easy.
All the food I️ ordered was pretty good. Chicken chaat was a nice warm starter on a cold night, followed by chicken tikka masala and some plain naan bread. The naan was freshly made and nicely served in quarters. The chicken tikka masala was brought out and put over a warmer - a nice touch I’ve not seen elsewhere (definitely not in the US!).
The total for dinner with a small soft drink was just under 17 quid.
I’ll definitely be back in the future if I’m back in Trowbridge!

The Poplars is a family run country pub & restaurant, offering delicious home cooked food, a friendly atmosphere & great service. Situated in the lovely Wiltshire village of Wingfield between Trowbridge & Bath, whether you wish to enjoy a quiet drink in the bar or dine in one of 2 restaurants, you're always welcome.
Visited for Saturday lunch as part of a family birthday celebration. Food just as good as our last visit and value for money still excellent. Reasonably wide menu choice and the children in our party were kept happy by their own menu options. If you want good pub food and service then look no further if you are in the Trowbridge area.

Inspired by the village bar bistros of South West France, the Bunch of Grapes is open for lunch and dinner every day. We close in the afternoons (Monday - Thursday) but re-open at 6pm when you're welcome for just a drink, for a quick snack or for dinner. We aim to be the perfect neighbourhood bar & restaurant.
Incredible menu and wine list. Really professional staff. Very well organised too. Great front of house team and equally good chefs. The house red served in a carafe is a true bargain. Just like being back in France.

Came here for a few drinks with friends, first time in about 25 years. Friendly pub and large garden with heaters at the back. Didn't eat here but the food looked fine and smelt lovely. Will certainly go here again when in Trowbridge.

Whilst staying in a studio in this charming old village, we had lunch in this gorgeous old coaching inn. Although I only had a Sandwich, the welcome was warm and the food delicious, with marvelous Wiltshire ham and other local produce. Portions were notably generous. Would love to return over and over.

Privately owned & run free house / restaurant nestled in the village of Hawkeridge between Westbury & Trowbridge in Wiltshire
Have been here twice when visiting my brother who lives nearby. Food quality is excellent but what makes this for me is the service. The staff of simply excellent and on the last visit on Sunday 4/2/18 my wife who is Gluten free felt very catered for. I would highly recommend this place.
