Although relatively simple and stately inside, the Cathedral of Stone comes alive at night with a recorded concert of fine music, narration, and even a compliment for the visiting traveler. Exterior lights illuminate the church as the musical score continues, changing colorations and styles as the program progresses. Completely delightful, and an appropriate tribute to our Lord.

Going to Black Lake go to the Swans pedal boats on the lake... It's very romantic and the views are gorgeous, specially the blue flowers called "hortensias"... There are some little stores with very interesting things to buy as souvenirs... And, yes, there are clean restrooms for free... Black Lake is a must go...

The Enigma Escape Game brings virtual games to reality. In a themed room skills, intelligence and teamwork of the players will be tested. You will be locked in a room and will have an hour to decipher codes, find hidden items, solve puzzles to escape the room. Can you escape?
This was an incredibly well designed escape room and open of the most fun things that I have ever done. The adrenaline and sense of achievement is huge! It's definitely not easy. We only had 3 minutes left when we escaped so don't be surprised...MoreWow!!! Thanks so much Chris for your very nice testimonial! Thank you guys for having been @Enigma enjoying our rooms. Family Winery . Wines . Amazing Wine Experiences - The family has been producing wines for four generations and captivating its visitors with its descendants’ enthusiasm and authenticity, showing through the kind attention given to people, the passion for the winemaking! In the winery’s store, a charming and unique environment, you can get to know the history of the company, taste the wines and treat yourself with specially prepared regional products! The winery offers picnics, meals harmonized with wines and tours in the vineyards, being a reference in the enotourism experience in Serra Gaucha (the mountainous region in the northeastern portion of Rio Grande do Sul State, in Southern Brazil)!
Adoramos!

I love books and this is one of the coziest, best decorated bookshops I've ever seen. Very surprising for being a small city in the countryside of Brazil. Not least, they have an excellent section of classical Brazilian literature, with focus on authors from southern Brazil. If in Sao Francisco de Paula, Miragem Livraria is a must!

It is far, you need to drive through a dirt road, the weather is unstable and may suddenly fog in a couple of minutes. But if you have the luck to get there in a clean and pleasant day, you will see an amazing view of the canyon. If you are a nature lover, try to learn with local people about the visibility and go.

One of five Jesuit Missions of the Guaranis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that encompasses Missions in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil.
I visited Sao Miguel das Missoes at the start of my 4 month trip to Brazil, arriving there from Santana de Livramento on the Brazil / Uruguayan border via a couple of lengthy bus rides. The ruins and the site are quite remarkable and well worth seeing. The sound and light show is also interesting if you have good Portuguese as it's not available in other languages. Keep your distance from the many school trips that come to see the show as you won't hear anything if you're near them.
The town itself is nothing special. There are a few simple restaurants and a few bars, though not much going on overall. Thankfully there is very good (though extremely overpriced) hostel right next to the ruins and this is a good place to meet other travellers, who will be mostly Brazilian. Again, you'll be limited if your Portuguese isn't very good as the staff don't speak any English and nor will most of the guests. I highly recommend camping on the hostel grounds if you have a tent (less than half the price a dorm bed).
Overall, the site is well worth visiting if you're heading this way. It's a long way from everything else of interest so weigh it up if you're thinking about making a special trip out this way.
