I repeated the visit and it was good idea. Collections are similar as years ago but they are refreshed. I saw interesting entrance room with souvenirs, memorial rooms dedicated to writer Ivan Tavčar, exhibits of different guilds and products from the area with different ethnographic description. They have some older paintings of Ivan Grohar and film about Passion play in the cellar. It is just a short walk from the middle of the city up to the castle. You can admire nice view.

Dear Rok,
The tour you organised on our behalf was flawless. Branko was an exemplary driver/guide. His knowledge, personality and caring were all excellent. The choice of accommodation both from a quality and location perspective were perfect. We were also delighted with the itinerary which worked seamlessly. We felt the inclusions were correct for the time available and offered enough variation to maintain our interest throughout the tour.
Overall, it was an excellent tour, very well organised and very well executed.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to any of our friends or acquaintance who wish to explore Eastern Europe. And it goes without saying that we would recommend Movis as Europe’s best private tour company.
Many thanks for your service Rok. It was every bit as enjoyable as the Balkans tour you organised for us a few years ago. Who knows, if our 70+ year old bodies don't deteriorate too much, we may have a third European road trip left in us sometime in the near future.

At the old town house in the main square (Glavni trg), we are full of ideas on how to explore the city and its surroundings or where to taste the best dessert and sip delicious coffee. The friendly staff will help you by giving advice and free publications. Here you can rent a bike, book a guided city tour, choose your favourite souvenirs or surf online.
The girl on the desk spoke excellent English, and pointed out all the places to visit on the free map, She introduced us to the guide for the tunnels and even gave us information about the football game taking place in the afternoon.

I stood on this bridge for 20 minutes watching the world go by, chatting to people and generally soaking up what was around me.
Being the oldest bridge left in Slovenia, it has great historical significance and speaking with the locals, they are very fond of it. The views around the bridge are lovely and exploring any of the side streets is alot of fun.
Beware of things that cross the bridge - small cars, carts, bikes, pedestrians and so on.
The town centre is only a few minutes away and when I was there a medieval festival was on which was brilliant.
Enjoy

The tunnels which stretch for nearly two kilometres under the old town were built to protect the population from bombing during the second world war. Go to the tourist office if you want to visit. The guide we had was brilliant and told us a lot about the tunnels and the city in pretty good English. There are a few photographs and displays down underground and a simulation of an air raid. The tour took around 45 minutes and for 2.5 euros was a real bargain. It's a bit different from the usual tourist attraction and I thought it was well worth the effort of visiting.

We liked museum - not only the Exhibitions, also location in the castle itself is a good reason to visit it. My wife comes from the region but even for her there were a lot interesting artifacts and information she didn't know before. Nice place to spend an hour or more, especially in a bad weather...

Unfortunately the Fountain was closed down for winter , so I can't comment on it's action. It was designed & built in 1952 by Joze Plecnik , a famous Slovenian Architect who was well known for his long work on restoring Prague Castle. His vision was a grand staircase and a Bronze Rooster atop of the ornate Fountain as a welcome to the City. You decide if it works ??

Homan's house is a block of old houses, mainly in renaissance and baroque style in the middle of Škofja Loka, just few steps from the church. Visitors need to walk there because it is reserved for pedestrians. One part is a parish house, central part is confectionery with open garden. Façade is mainly white with some frescoes. Inner part is less interesting or not open for ordinary visitors.
