This site was formerly a Celtic hilltop settlement subsequently built upon by the Romans, who created what was, essentially, a small "new town". Excavations (WITH English-language explanation boards dotted about the site!!) include extensive baths and a lovely intact Roman Bridge, as well as a comprehensible Temple to Venus overlooking a petite Forum. Views are amazing. There is an English-language guidebook available (5 euros) and entrance is FREE on Sundays.

I took my 12 year old son here and we had a good 4-5 hours looking around. It is not a zoo and apart from the different collection of animals seen during the actual safari, there are not a huge amount of different animals at Badoca. The safari was excellent and there is a huge space for the different species like giraffe, zebra, buffalo etc. The sad part was looking at the relatively small enclosure that the tigers were in. With all the space within the park, the management should seriously look at this urgently.The lemurs, chimps and baboons all had their own Islands which were quite roomy and spacious for each species. The water rapids ride was only running for 1 hour (during a hot August day) which seemed crazy and the queue was very long. I've read that other people complained about getting wet on this ride. Really? What do you expect on a "wild rapids" boat ride. Good day out for families.

The experience was outstanding, so worth every cent! We went to meet donkeys before the riding and the horses were well taken care of, seemed happy and healthy. There was about a 15 minute ride thru the forest before we reached the beach and IT WAS AMAZING! The views, Luis (the host) and the experience in all was amazing. Book now!

Located in Vila Nova Santo Andre it has the perfect environment for Karting and full conditions for leisure and tourism. With unparalleled technical conditions - 1020 metres circuit 8 metres wide - SAKI is one of the biggest and greatest Portuguese Go-Kart track, projected and engineered to the small detail. It has a fleet of karts, 5 of them adapted for paraplegic persons and another 5 for small children. The facilities comprise a press and meeting room, briefing room, restaurant, snack-bar, shops and in the circuit side itself, 16 boxes, mechanical workshop and medical centre.

Excelente localização, perto da minha residência e com boas condições para a prática de diversa modalidades motorizadas, como kart, motociclismo e mesmo automobilismo (drifting).

The interior of the castle is given over to the city cemetery. Foreign visitors may take some interest in this with its sepulchers and walls housing boxes with the remains of the deceased. (In Portugal the remains are exhumed after a number of years and the graves reused.)
Visitors may take a leisurely ten minute walk around the perimeter of the castle between the high inner wall and the lower outer wall. But some fine views of the town and countryside is all that's on offer.
We found the adjacent church closed.

When you leave the “Ruins of Mirobriga” turn to your right and continue for about 1 km and you will find the wind mill on the right, turn into the narrow road to the hill to visit. This mill was recuperated by the city of Santiago de Cacém, and is a nice location to visit also on the inside and listen to the man who will explain you more details on the mill, amazing to see, we loved it.

Il Museo Farinha è il risultato del progetto di musealizzazione di una vecchia fabbrica di macinazione dei cereali di inizio del Novecento con i suoi macchinari. Interessante visita da abbinare a quella dell’antico mulino a vento per completare il quadro.

Anche Santiago do Cacém ha il suo Pelourinho in piazza. Se ne vedono in tutti i paesi e alcuni sono ben decorati e meritevoli di una occhiata. Questo è un semplice pilastro senza molto di artistico.
