For active people the hike in is probably around 30 minutes but I would guess that most people average around 1 hour. The trail is rocky and steep but most people can make it if they give themselves enough time. We arrived at 9:00am and waited until 11:00am to see the 'golden hour' with the temple lit by the sun, but it still wasn't close, so we gave up. We tried another day in the afternoon around 1:30-2:00pm but it was much too late to see the temple lit by the sun. I'm guessing it must happen between 11:30-noon. At 9:00am we had about 30 minutes to ourselves. The cave is big and simply breathtaking. I'd plan on spending 2-3 hours total including the hike in and out.

We visited in the early morning at first light, and were practically the only visitors. The serenity of rustling leaves and beautiful views made us hardly notice the hour's trek/climb. Part of the way, we were accompanied by a cute, mangy dog-guide who trotted before us and waited for us to catch up - we rewarded her with some breakfast after the climb!
Reaching the cave was magical, the temple bathed in natural light and highlighting the majesty of the surrounding, impossibly slender and tall trees. The temple was commissioned by King Chulalongkorn, apparently after being charmed by the mystical beauty of this place - and it's easy to see why. Wonder if he was carried here on a sedan though, can't imagine him making the trek. This was definitely a bucket-list experience for me!
If you intend to walk all the way instead of taking a longboat at the beginning, allow about 2 to 2.5 hours for the experience. There's tasty breakfast at the restaurant at the start of the cave with the best coconut shake we had in Thailand.

We visited Pranburi Forest Park, I found it very quiet and a little barren. Trees have been planted and there are walks and a camping site near the beach area.Every thing seems to be well maintained including the toilet block. It's an OK place but I would not hurry back.

Its our fourth time visiting this area and we have always rented scooters for our stay from Mr Moo.
Been satisfied with their service of delivering the bikes quickly and taking care of any problems that may arise...this week the bike was missing and not running to my satisfaction and they quickly provided a replacement
You can negotiate a rate with them especially if you have abide for an extended period....200BHT is the going rate per day.

The family and I stopped here to take a look at the impressive statues, the largest over 18 meters of Somdet Phra Phutthachan (according to the provincial web site). It was a quiet day when I went, and it allowed for a peaceful exploration of the temple, and experience all the views. The large statues all have unobstructed views of the Sam Roi Yot Mountains.

Simple surroundings but healing hands, Wasi has worked at 5 star resorts and she definitely has the healing touch! After a long haul flight from London I visited her and felt completely energised and reset to go again! This massage is not the relaxing type but definitely will sort out any knots and aches that you have. I had a mixture of oil and typical Thai massage or stretching, she is strong and has a firm pressure in her massage and is as good as the Thai massage if not better than the ones in London. Go try it!

Small beach hidden in a cove between two high outcrops, this is the closest to what I would consider a good beach by Australian standards. It is almost spotless in comparison to khao takiab or hua hin main beach as it is less commercial with only one large sunbed operator that flogs beer and food and a few beach massage huts.
The usual mill of locals seeking to sell beach wear and trinklets.
Sunbeds are 100 thb for the day and large changs are reasonable at 100 as well.
Getting there is about 15-20 minute car journey as it is somewhat tucked away in the coastal hinterland albeit quite scenic as you draw near with masses of bouganvillas flowering adjacent the road.
After around 1 or 2 pm, the swells increase to make it a bit heavy for small children although the water is only waist to chest height. The cove concentrates the waves and gives it considerable oomph. The sand is a mix of crushed shells and silica so wear thongs or flip flops if you have sensitive feet.
Overall a great place to get a tan

Rocco, Hong and the staff work hard to make this popular bar/resto the best on the beach.
We spend many afternoon/evenings there and Rocco goes out of his way to ensure we all enjoy ourselves!
The food is great quality and presented very well, come and try with a cool beer! See you there!

Quite breathtaking and unusual. Beautiful wetlands with a wooden walkway. Spectacular Mountains in the nearby background. Serene nature with birds, fish, fresh air, away from city, traffic and noise. Nice for stroll and photography, and not much else to do. About 45 mins from Hua Hin.
