Our family of me, my husband and two teenagers spent a week scuba diving in Bonaire and went to Curacao after to enjoy Christmas. We decided to get in a couple of dives in Curacao and really enjoyed them. We saw the sea turtles at Piskado and Many fish at Alice in Wonderland. We got our tanks from the Go West dive shop at the Alice in Wonderland reef. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They gave us good tips. We especially enjoyed talking to Martha at the shop. She recommended we see Watamula Hole (so cool!) and that we hike to the secluded beach called Gupi. We had it to ourselves and it was amazing. Martha also recommended Sol Food, one of our favorite restaurants of the trip. Thanks Martha, as of the diving wasn’t enough, your suggestions finished off a great day!!!

At 1,200 feet, the mountain is home to many deer.
There are 2 loups available in the park. We did the lower loop which was shorter.
Very well marked for the lookout spots and roads in good condition. Abit steep at times but the diversity of the scenery as you drive is interesting. Caves with bats and paintings offer a short hike. Lots of different birds and iguanas
At the park entrance there is a landhuis to tour and a restaurant also.
You can buy cold water at the entrance for your hike.

Great dive shop and friendly staff, they really helpful and accommodating, we are advanced divers and really enjoyed our visit to Lagun beach, Sam took us to a guided dive on Lagun on the morning and Piskadu in the afternoon he promised 90% probability of seeing turtles and he honor, three turtles and plenty of sea life. At the end of the day Sam rented us thanks and gear for the next day, he gave us instructions for our next day dives, great experience and great shop, their equipment is in really good condition, everything was like new. We recommend Discover Diving for your diving adventures they also can give you full PADI instruction and certification if you are new to diving. Say hello to Sam and hope we will visit you soon. Playa Grandi was just down the road from our resort, so we were frequent visitors. We snorkeled near shore several days after the fishermen returned and cleaned their catch, throwing the scraps to the resident sea turtles. It is amazing to be floating on the surface and have one of the larger turtles, nearly 3 feet across his body swim right under you! We swam about 5-8 minutes out to the reef, which is in 25-30 feet of crystal clear water. We were rewarded with a punch ticket of just about all of the species of Caribbean reef fish and sponges on our plastic identification card. My husband was also able to negotiate with the crew of the fishing boat Eagle Eyes to take him out with them on their daily voyage. They were out from 5AM-3PM, They hand line catch the fish, also send some of the crew free diving for spear fishing and lobster in season. My husband had brought his own tackle and caught a red snapper and triggerfish, which they cleaned for us to have for our suppers 2 nights. Not a bad $100, spent. It was not for the squeamish, no soft seats, really any seats, other than the gunnels, but hardy fishermen put up with anything for the catch.

Savonet Museum is the newest Museum of Curacao! This Museum is a unique concept located at the heart of the Christoffelpark, the largest nature reserve on the island. Established in the former plantation house, called “landhuis”, of the Savonet Plantation. It gives visitors a peek into the lives of the former inhabitants of the area, full of inside information and views. From the first Arowak Indians who came to the island almost 4000 years ago up to modern times. Modern audio- visual concepts, historical artefacts, faces of descendents of the former slaves, photography, completely restored antiques and much more give the museum the tools to tell a diverse story of interdependence between humans and nature, cultural history and natural history.
The Savonet Museum is designed to show the history of the island's inhabitants. It has podcasts in Dutch, Papiamentu and English. They are interesting but don't follow a historical flow. The displays are good but could be improved. Still worth a quick visit.

Dive'N Curacao is a new diveshop located in Rancho El Sobrino resort. Playa Forti (there are sea turtles every morning there) is the only beach walking distance from the resort, but this is the case with most of Curacao. So when choosing a dive shop to go with, I'd go for the one that's closest to where you stay. Because by doing so you have a place where you can rinse all your equipment and have it dry and then pack it the next morning and go diving again.
We didn't rent anything except the air+weights, so I can't comment on the quality of the gear, but based on what I've seen in general, these are reliable guys and will always help you if you need it. We had an issue with a leaking hose when we got there, and the dive shop helped us out right away.
Price wise, it really depends. There are places that you can rent air for a slightly lower prices, but then they will also charge for everything extra on top of that. We did a night dive with Dive'n and even though the flashlights had a rental charge, they did not charge us at the end, which told me that they care about the customer. and truth be told, if I had the pleasure of coming back to Curacao to dive, I'd definitely deal with Dive'N.
Another thing that I'd like to mention is that with a lot of other dive shops around the island we'd experience very different service. A lot of times they are located at the best dive spots, so one way or another one has to deal with them. Some would charge you $5 to use their facilities, some would not.
The one dive shop I wanted to mention (in a very negative light) is the gowestdiving at playa grandi (alice in wonderland). These guys were extremely rude and very unhelpful. Typically, if a diver asks the diveshop about the divesite in the immediate area, the diveshop would be happy to help. I understand that they are running a business and will always try to sell you something, but gowestdiving went the extra mile. "if you'd like more info, you have to pay me $5" seriously? $5 to hear where is best to enter the site? If I wanted to dive in that location and had no equipment I wouldn't rent anything from those guys.
In any case, I'd like to thank Dive'N for their great service, friendliness and help!

Inlet on the less-developed western side of the island.
Great park, secluded, rented the nicer chairs for $10 the others were $5. Water was beautiful. Laid back atmosphere. Food and drink were limited, we wished we would have brought a cooler, definitely would go back though.

Northwest Curaçao has the best Beaches - easy to access, never has theft problems, beautiful clean clear water, lots of fish and coral and turtles. We saw dolphins one day. We really enjoyed Klein Knip, Kalki, Grandi, Jeremi among others. Grote Knip is beautiful for a quick visit but too touristy.

Watamula is a must see in Curacao. Off the beaten path, somewhat remote and incredibly beautiful. My boyfriend and I went there 2x and both times we were the only people around....for several hours. We had the opportunity to see the power of the waves slamming up against the shore, and subsequently "spouting" through the hole in the rocks. SO COOL!! We walked in the first time and drove in the second time. Go see it , you won't be disappointed. And best of all....it's FREE!!!!! Enjoy while it lasts.
